Hi all,
I'm trying to order some bearings for my original Ultima with the exception of the front wheels as I am fitting Tamiya wheels.

RC Bearings require clarification on what the car requires. They ask this:

I cannot make out if it needs 4 flanged and 2 non flanged 4x8x3 bearings or the other way around. My records are show a kit for this model supplied by another custom. However when I double check against Boca they show different.

Can you help please!

Cheers all

Gearbox internal bearings are a pair of 10x14 and a pair of 5x10 bearings. Rear hub bearings are 4 off 5x10. Front wheel bearings are 4 off 4x8.

The spur gear is the tricky one, the official arrangement is two washers either end, with two plain 4x8 bearings with a spacer in the middle. A pair of flanged bearings will remove the washers and spacer, and not have the gear running against a couple of washers.

Built as Kyosho intended there are no flanged bearings in the Ultima, but I would advise fitting a pair of flanged bearings in the spur gear.

I double teryy's advise: flanged bearings on the spur are a very good thing.

I think you can get all the bearings you need from Avid.
