Hi guy

As per about title...

I have the above combo and the motor now will only work if the car is pushed

If it stops then I have to push the car again

I can't figure out

Has this happened to anyone before?

Thanks

Either a connection in the motor is faulty (check with buzzer/meter) or there are faulty FETs in the ESC.

It is down to one of the phases not working correctly which means the motor cannot self start but will carry on running once going and could be one of the following:

Poor connection down to weak connector or bad solder joint. An overheating motor/ESC can weaken solder joints.

Damaged ESC - try a different ESC to test - any make will do

Damaged Motor - try a different motor to test - any make will do

Damaged Sensor unit - you can only swap out if you have another SP motor sensor

Cheers guys

Just had a another fiddle at it and it seems to be phase A that is faulty (Blue)

It's working on and off but I'll try and different motor just to check

Hope it's not the ESC

How did you measure that?

Hi

Just put a losi motor in and that is now perfect

No issues at all so I guess it's a faulty motor

But a new sensor board is £30 for the motor which is abit steep

Any other ideas what it could be motor wise?

Cheers

If the ESC is capable of running an unsensored motor, unplug the sensor cable and see how it runs. If it is perfect then def the sensor if still not then it will be a winding. Either burnt out or a poor connection inside somewhere. Tough to get at the insides on some motors and if the winding is burnt out you are stuffed. If just connection then possible you could fix it if you can get to it.

Sp motor runs fine sensor less but is still having the same problem of needing a push, losi motor sensor less is fine and runs perfect

Guess its the motor then

Yup, looks that way. I would strip it down and see if it is anything obvious. Otherwise it is replacement time. Sorry!
