hi
just seen the next price drop of Durango kits this time the DEX210,
having paid near to £200.00 for mine not long ago I am more then disappointed to see it's second hand value be totally ruined by the dumping of new kits on to the Market.

This goes for my Durango SCT as well, perhaps buying a kit from kyosho etc that seem to keep the retail price stable is in the long term better option when you want to buy a newer model, as for Durango kits will we seem them in Christmas crackers or stacked to the ceiling in Pound land.

I am all for good prices but this type of retailing is wrong as we have seen so many model shops go bust.

I got caught out by the price drop of the ready to run, Can't say I'm that bothered. At £125 I'm even thinking of getting a spare kit just for spares. I think it great that you can get such a great car for such little money. I hope it encourages new people to take up the hobby. I know we have had a few RTR suddenly appear at Southport.

If you are buying your kits with second hand value in mind I am sorry but this is the wrong hobby for you. Buy it. Race it enjoy it and buy spares for it. That's how all the firms survive. The durango kits have gone from a good deal to a really silly too good to miss kind of deal. I wish I got mine at that price. But fact is I didn't and don't care cos I love this sport and in the grand scheme of things it isn't really very expensive. The very nature of racing wears stuff out and breaks stuff. Just enjoy it for what it is. :woot:

I understand it feels for you like wasted money what you've spent extra on the car... but it's a great oportunity to pick up spares, and to be honest I think these kits may actually increase in value again a few months after they've left the market, because the kit it replaces probably costs 200GBP again.

Assuming the V2 is imminent (and the V1's departure is), consider this: It's not unlikely that the V2 will have a Type B DIMEC chassis, which means different hangers, suspension blocks etc... V1/current DEX owners may therefor find the V1 kit more interesting for spares unless they really want a LWB plastic chassis instead of a (LWB) alu one.

On the flipside of the coin, with the Worlds (=new cars) coming you can expect price drops on kits - I wanted to switch to another brand and in my mind had kind of settled for a DEX210 already, but I was told to be patient exactly because of this. I wasn't expecting the price drops this big, but to be honest this is the sort of deal I need to keep enough money for other stuff/to continue the hobby.

They won't get any cheaper.
The reason there are offers on is that this is the quietest time of the year for our friends at the model shops. They do this (probably as a loss leader) to help keep them ticking over.

From the wording of one of MB Models posts:

"TD have announced new pricing today, this enables us to sell the DEX210 Kit at only £94.99 each or 2 for £185.00"

It sounds like it's the manufacturer making the price drops?

They are lowering their prices ridiculously far - it must mean Durango wants/needs to lose the old DEX210 to release the new one 'in time.'

Also, check this out:
http://www.area52.cc/news/3997-updated-dex210--2013-efra-euros.html

That's quite a long way away from the current DEX210. The gearbox is likely an RB6 one, not their own, so that's a long way from being included in a kit. The front arms look moulded to me considering the fillets and the TD logo on it, but it's stated that it (too) is a long way from being included in a kit...

Considering this, I'm assuming what he Jörn drove at the Euros is what might be to come for the DEX210 in 12-18 months? :eh?:

As July and August are our quietest months i have decided to do 1 day specials, to keep our staff busy and products moving!

How it will work - Each day Monday - Friday i will post a special offer for that day/evening, the offer will change each day so you will need to act quickly, as the offers will only be valid on that day,

I'm also open to suggestions so if theres a specific item you would like drop me a email and i will see what i can do.

I best start thinking about tomorrows offer!

Thanks
MB

Its a bit annoying when we read marketing hype like this about offers every day (smd) every month but then no consitant follow through

Its great that you guys put these offers on but you lose criedibilty if you dont follow through with your own words.....

I know the advertisers mainly fund oople but an open fourm regards online stores could help improve feedback for those business

If an advertiser wants a post removed then they could ask a moderator to do so...

Ps the Drango things getting worse than turkey butties and branston now ;)

Is it getting worse than this? Could you shed any light for us as to how/why these price drops from Durango are so massive? :eh?:

They obviously need some warehouse space for something more important ;)

And kit you can't sell (cos it's been superceded) is pretty much scrap anyway. Might as well sell it with an absolutely minimal mark up.

Gtoo right, but then, you can't sell spares until you've got millions of kits with out of date parts on them out there. ;)
