Well, I know there has been a serious want for a 4wd AE buggy for years, and they may have just lef slip thier little secret

Your name: dean
Electric kit referenced:

We hate to say this, but sorry, we won’t comment on products we haven’t announced. We are either not working on the requested product or the feature set has not been finalized. Please check our web site News > Announcements or Products > New Products sections for any news on upcoming products.

I know that seems small, but before any 4wd buggy speculation has been a definitive no.

The feature set hinted at - is probably that they ARE working on one but it just happens to be an 8th scale buggy.

I think Kdub has already hinted at.. or said they are working on an 8th car. can't see AE making a 4wd unless they buy out J concepts

The BJ is the 4WD AE SHOULD have made to start with.

Although J concepts is on very good terms with Associated, AE has always said that they DO NOT have any agreements with them concerning market covering. Same thing in the past with Yokomo. Remember : before AE came with the TC3, the factory guys ran Yokomo touring cars.

Honestly, with all their new projects coming (TC5, 1/8th), I don't see an AE 4WD before 2008. Although, they have a habit of suprising us at offroad worlds.

Many of their top US guys (Tebo, Maifield, others) have been testing a 1/8th buggy for several months. Look for it fairly soon. Don't know if by Christmas or not, most likely next spring.

AE have said repeatedly that they will not make a 1/10 electric 4WD. World-wide, the market is so small they're not interested. Small size of the market is shown by the fact Losi is not working on a new 4WD either.

We have a podcast on www.4wdrc.com with Adam Drake where I asked him directly if Losi is working on a new wheeler, and he said no without any equivocation. I think I'm on good enough terms with Adam that he would have answered the question much differently had they been working on a new car.
