under 16 i think is either Latham or ickle ben
Vets will be DC if he is doing it ??
Top F2 i think could be between Lloyd Storey or Griff .
And top F345 not sure who is doing it but Andy Carter could be fav if hes entered it ..
U13 connor cocker has my vote

F2s Mathew Latham if hes not tied down with juniors or Andy Griff
F3s 2wd Wraggy and Ben, Wraggy with his Euro experiance should help him
Ben has won a regional, ok a 4wd one but hes still runnig well in 2wd this year
F3s 4wd has to be Ian southwell or Dave Belston for me.
Southwell did amazing last year and had been pushing the xx4 like crazy and gving its at the same venue as last year his car will be good
Belston has won the f3s befor i belive and is shit hot when its all going good for him

I think the Mid-West have a good chance at the F2's... A certain Tony Bishop should be there or thereabouts in both classes.

Not sure if hes going and what preds are like around the track but James Chappell could well be in with a shout from the NE. Hate to admit it but hes doing really well with his new car. I told him n ot to get 1. Will he prove me wrong?

Thanks for the sentiments mate and I thank Moss for lending me the gear as well.
I think the Mid West have a strong chance at this year's F2s. I'm there, Tony Bish, James Evans, Tony Parr, Preddy, Stuart Harlow (not sure if he's going due to 1/18th nationals), Griff but as it all comes down to the day.
I think alot will depend on local knowledge of the track as well but hopefully we can get it right early on and see what happens. It will also depend on any 'randoms' who may not have raced for a munber of years

Think both the BRC and F3's are going to be very close. There are going to be number of drivers that are capable of making the A in both. And think there might be some drivers that are going to be disapointed at just missing out.
But have to say go MID WEST :thumbsup:

Eastrax is located just of the A17 between King's Lynn and Sutton bridge with brown government signs on the A17 saying Eastrax to direct you in and the postcode is PE147LB.
The link
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=PE14+7LB&ie=UTF8&z=15&ll=52.749957,0.234489&spn=0.010884,0.043001&om=1&iwloc=addr
shows a map of where the track is located. I am pretty sure you can't go down Eastlands Bank from the A17 as it's for emergency vehicles only. You need to go down Station Road, but like Mike has said it's sign posted from the A17 with brown information signs anyway.

The BRC's / Junior & Vets this coming weekend is currently at a full capacity entry.
However if you know of anyone that has booked in and now can not make it, please instruct them to contact their Regional Rep ASAP to help free up spaces.

Not sure on split of number between heats, as there's four different classes running each day (U13, U16, Vets, BRC). But having spoken to PW last night, he tells me that there are 18 finals. :o

Main reason for the large quantity of finals is the 3 leg'd finals for the U13, U16, BRC.
As for next year, I think the Junior age groups will be very low on numbers. I think PW said there will be something like 6 U13's in the country that are known to be currently racing. NOT GOOD... :(

I wouldn't hold out much hope for them, as we can't seem to attract them to local Md-West regionals, so driving further afield to National style events seems unlikely.
Defo agree with the F3 tips. Both Jason and Dean have performed excellently at Mid-West regionals.

None of them were racing 1/10th before May this year, you may see a few at regionals next year.
Surely to get U16 regional and national drivers you must first have U16 club racers? so its a start.

Good lad look forward to it!!! Cant make that meeting either, and I had dropped to an F4 for this year so could of gone too!!! (Damn family birthdays, how inconsiderate)
I meant to say "Hi" to you at Stotfold, but I was only there for a few hours each afternoon and with so many people coming up and saying hello I just didnt get time to.
It was funny sitting in the tent with Ellis whilst Vicky was doing his interview, a bit like "a fly on the wall" documentry for me. It gave me a few laughs along the way.......:eh?:
It was nice to catch up with all the people that I did meet though and put a few faces to few names I speak to via email or phone regularly (Lee Root for one!! ;) and Ben getting Ellis to autograph his fresh parts box was ace - hope you ebayed it Ben for an extortionate figure :D)

Ahh, I thought I saw you - yeah I was a bit hard to see at the weekend as I was either crouching at the trackside or on my laptop(s) in the tent - but I fancied doing a proper report for the last National.
I didn't make it to last years f345's since I was in Japan for the Worlds, but I went to it 3 or 4 years in a row before that - last time I went in 2006 I made the A final and it's still the best days racing I've ever had, just to make the A was awesome. The F345's is the best event for me and I was sad to miss it last year.

Yeah that's a problem, I think at the moment the idea is for vicky to run 5 cells on the same motor, maybe a 12 turn. She uses sticks on 40mhz and I use a steerwheel on 2.4ghz, so it's all a bit tricky haha.

Awesome weekend.... Well done Eastrax and all the organising team that helped bring the event together.
Not to ignore the great driving by everyone in the BRC's class, but in my mind they all over shadowed both days by the driving talents of the Junior classes.
In the Under 13 class we saw Connor Cocker take two well deserved titles, but for me the U13's driver of the weekend was Jack Neal, driving suberb to finish 2nd both days and also TQ today's 4wd event. Even better when you consider he drove his AE B4 both days. Well done Jack..
As for the U16's, this saw two equally impressive drives. 2WD, Greg Williams stormed to TQ & victory using the Nathan Ralls X-6. Today saw the drive of the weekend for me. Ben Jemison, running the Chris Doughty Atomic Carbon car, took a clean sweep. 4 round wins and 3 A-Final legs. Not bad, but even better when you consider his qualifying times would have placed him about 3rd overall in the BRC's class and I'm pretty sure his A-Final leg wins would have given his 2009 Schumacher team-mates something to worry about. Congratulations Ben..
Mike Hudson
31-08-2008, 09:52 PM
Ben was dialled in today with the lend of Doughtys car winning every round TQ'd and winning all three legs of the u16 championship with ease, with the times he put in he would have been 4th or 3rd on the grid in the BRC A final i think very well done to him and all others who placed high this weekend

Not the best in 2WD, but that goes for all the Mid-West drivers. I think they're school report would say "Must try harder"
As for 4WD, he qualified A9. Not sure where he finished in the overall results, but I know he had 3 unlucky final legs.

I had a bod weekend, 2wd was shocking and 4wd was dissapointing. 4th in round 1, then two rounds of rear wheel drive when my hexes went in the front wheels followed by round 4 where i was going 4th overall only for the slipper to self destruct :( Nevermind, F3's here i come! :p

Ditto everyone else. Well done to Eastrax organisers and the BRCA - great fun and very competitive.
Special thanks to Tom Yardy and Phil Sleigh - outstanding refereeing to to get 99.99% of your calls bang on - not even the paid premiership refs get it right as often as you guys did.
Great to see many F1s and superstars lending a hand / equipment to the others - Greg Williams was awesome with Niggs X6 but star of the weekend for me was Ben. Yesterday's drive was simply incredible.
Don't want to take anything away from the other winners who also drove fantastic but his was a very special performance.
slightly saddened by the lack of meerkats at the event - thought you boyz would of been up for the challenge - maybe you felt vulnerable in the flat lands on the fens??
Great to see Ishy again after so many years - nice to know I'm not the only one going grey.
Grest weekend - those that couldn't make it missed a great one (don't want to rub it in too much:p:p)
Looking forward to 2010 already - as a vet maybe:woot:

Where to start for the weekend.....
Saturday was a little disapointing from not only my point of view but for all othe Mid West drivers. Myself, Griff (isn't he Welsh?) and Bish all making the B Final and failing....
Saturday night was good though, a 1.5 hours drive with Southwell at the helm and sick Trish in the front seat resulted in a Tesco being found, McDonals being eaten and a Disposable BBQ being set-up on Trishs table when we got back!
Wraggy was hammered when we got back, 3 bottles of wine and no shame when it came to eating Black Sausages with a scalpel, funny as fook mate.
Sunday started off poorly for me as well, leading Heat 10 from Sharpy by about 3 seconds and landed awkwardly off the first table top and sanpped a front wishbone, Sharpy went on to TQ the round as well!
Took a 6th in both Rounds 2 and 3 and drove way to safe in Round 3, both of these rounds could (and should) have been 3rds at the least.
Went out in Round 4 and absolutly hammered the track to take a 3rd, really shows what the CAT could have done all day if I'd attacked! Ended up qualifying 8th with 9 points, 10 point bottomed outt he A Final!
First Leg I got a 3rd after passing Arslan on the second to last hairpin. This was the most pleasing drive of the day as I was 10th after the first corner and had to put passing moves on Bish, Sharpy and Arslan to get to up to 3rd, everyone else seemed to 'fall' out of the way! Plus I had 2 25.5 second laps while I was pushing!
Second leg was carnage and I was running about 5th when the rear diff seized up, finished 9th
Last leg was the most exciting of the day for me, I ended up in a battle for 4th with James Helliwell and passed him on the last corner to beat him in a drag race by 0.02 of a second, watch the clip on YouTube as it shows out last gasp finish! No overall damage done to James as he still came in 3rd and the extar point helped me finish 4th!!
A great day for Schumacher as mentioned earlier with 4 CATs in the top 8 qualifying and all finished in the top 6 overall.
Special Thanks to Mossy for the laon of his gear for the weekend and the fact I had nothing to do other than sit there!
Mentions to Southwell, Trish and Wraggy, great pitting times over the weekend and Southwell if you can drive the F3s like you did yesterday I will be backing you for special things!
PS : Well done Ben, if it wasn't for the 'lady' inspiring you on the Saturday night who knows how well you would have driven on Sunday!! :wub

Well, ben and Smooth in the same sentence WOW.
But we all saw a different lil ben yesterday, i think his head just clicked with his thumbs and nobody stood a chance, as Mick kept saying there was nothing special in the car it was just as it was taken off the track at stotfold last week, but ben had the confidence and drove properly and realised that you dont have to thrash it to be quick.
Well done Ben and Mick, i think Mick was just as happy, and im sure Mr Atomic Carbon will have a big smile too

"is it to late to send entry form off now to enter in f345 at coventry"
May be able to ring or email your regional rep, today (1st) is the last day I believe.
To clarify -
Entries should go via your Regional Rep.
The Reps have to have their lists in by Saturday evening at the latest.

was an awsome display from ben to simply walk away with the under 16's especially as his times would have been so good in the f2's as well, definatly a star in the making. best you let mick tutor you as much as possible in the future,
im biased for the next one but well done to greg for picking up my car in the 3rd round with a strange transmitter as well and only his out lap for practise and tq'ing the next 2 rounds and taking the first 2 legs, shame about the thermalling in the 3rd leg but i think with how big you were aiming you would of happy slapped matts car rather than over taken it :woot:, good to see conner going so well to do the double and to nathan as well. really enjoyed my weekend there even if i couldnt race and also good to see so many preds there as well ;)
