Hiya,

I am just converting my first buggy to electric, and have come to a bit of a dilemma..

I used to run a 1/10 K1 which had twin 7.4v packs and have spoken to a few people adout using twin packs in 1/8..

Now here is the problem, some have said doing that will stress batteries and cause to short, and others have said go for the 14.8v lipo instead???

Would love to know other peoples thoughts if possible??

Cheers

Hi mate,

What 1/8th car do you have mate ?

I am currently running a dex408 and I have been running two 7.4v packs in them.

I have also run 2 sets saddle packs when I first got the buggy till I bought some specific battery's for it.

I think personally if you can run two 7.4v packs its better cause if one packs went bad you can replace it where as if 14.8v pack gos down you have lost all the pack.

I am currently using both gens ace 6500 and turnigy 6600mah packs.

You will pick up two turnigys for about £50 posted via hobbyking which is hard to match for price vers performance.

I am charging them as a 14.8v pack on my charger so it balances all the cells properly as 4s.

I was thinking about 2 separate batteries for that reason, as 14.8v batteries are expensive when you look at top end...

I will be converting my MBX7 shortly, just trying to get the bits I need to do it really...

What ESC/Motor you running as I am looking at getting Tekin RX8 esc and T8 motor..

Cheers

I have only ever run a Tekin RX8 and a Tekin T8 motor in mine which has been faultless and with the hotwire you can alter everything really easy as long as you are on pc and not mac.

As for new just find any Tekin stockist and just get them to order it in from the UK distributer rcdisco.
