who's got one? :D

my m-03r arrived from california on monday. I'm going to be racing it in the chippenham thrashnal series - and possibly my local club (cobra, cardiff - www.swmcrc.co.uk) if there are enough people wanting to run one (which is looking unlikely at the mo!).

front wheel drive, decent bodyshells that look like real cars, and spec motors - the ultimate budget class? the racing is a hoot - the cars are so evenly matched!

i'm surprised no one has tried a spec class for offroad - any chassis, control tyres, handout motors, and a restriction on cells.

Yeah they are fantastic. I think theres a couple of largeish threads in the Tamiya section about them from a little while ago. I've got a couple of mini cooper m03's - I used to race at work with some mates as well and you're right about evenly matched. One guy at a 13 turn in his mini and it was no faster since he couldn't lay that much power down!

 wicked.

anyone who tries a 13 turn in an m-03 mini is completely nuts :woot:

for me, the mini is what RC racing should be all about - pure sport with no advantage to be gained through silly spending. and the cars look great!

I do sometimes get a little embarassed when asked by passers by about the cost of a competitive off-road setup; these things can be bought brand new with an ESC off ebay for £70 delivered, add cheapo 27mhz radio gear, a ballrace kit, a cheap stick pack & charger and you're off.

Andy Lambert put an 11T motor in his,it eventually melted the chassis around the diff bearings.
Was very funny while it lasted though. :woot:
M chassis cars are ace.

Get some TRF upgraded shocks on it and have a play with the suspension settings, the springs that are on them as standard are way too soft.

I ended up with AE TC springs red on the front, blue rear if that helps!

makes a huge difference!

M-03's are the most fun you can have with your rc clothes on :p
