Hi Guys,

Some pretty major changes are happing at SHRCCC in the new few weeks.

We need to have various bodies available to help out as much as possible. It's hoped we do not have to close racing a for a week, so the more the merrier.

James Lucas will take control of the this thread and organise who, what, where and how.

Work will start DIRECTLY after this Thursday's meeting at around 10.15pm!

All hands on deck please lads this isn't something I can do on my own but the venue needs it to push to the next level. Everything will become a lot more permanent. Any questions or suggestions any one has just drop me a text on 07862296104

Thanks
James

I would love to help but but I might be moving house on that day so I can't help. My only suggestion about the track is make it good fun for all to race hard with no over the top jumps that are do or die.

Some tracks I visited this year used a alternative track surface along with Astro , southport has a small Tarmac section with a small cobble stone hair pin. Robin Hood has a large concrete berm bend and I believe one in London has a small Tarmac section.
How about trying this out at shrcc
I was concerned that these surfaces would cause high tyre wear but by the end each race I could not notice any extra wear above normal.

Hi Duncan,

We have plans to add different ideas to the track. One idea is polish cobbles and another is a block paving section.

And of course, we have plenty of Tarmac!

MASSIVE thanks to those who came tonight. Awesome to see such a great turnout, the club thanks you all!!!

2/3rds of the Astro laid and it's looking good. New table top done and sweet from all three angles, as well as the new banked corner leading onto the straight.

We'll be at it again at 5.00pm tomorrow.

Many hands make light work

Final work party of the week tomorrow night from 7.00pm. Not much to do, bit of astro gluing, mortar mixing for James's feature wall and then it's build the track. Should be no more than an hour or so. All help appreciated.
