View Full Version : Servo saver?

Anyone stuffed a servo saver in an X11 with one of the low profile servos in the standup config? Since I don't have an X11, yet, I don't have a clue if there is room. I assume not.
I hate running cars without them... Cost me $60+ last time I tried it, and I only tried it for 3 packs in a touring car...
Thanks guys!

Because of the length (and flexibility) of the steering linkage these are not needed. but to answer your question, I doubt there is any room for it.

Chris,
A servo saver isn't really needed in the car; as long as you have a strong, torquey metal geared servo (like a Futaba S9551 etc.) you should be fine.
I've been running a Futaba S9551 one in my car for months (without a saver) and have had no problems at all.

Hadn't thought about the linkage and what that would do. Thanks guys. One less thing to worry about. Now I just need 500 quid.

I've never run a servo saver in my pred and never had a problem with a Futaba 9550.

I used to use a small kimboro saver in that config, fitted no problem

Did the Kimbrough have enough power? I tried one in my BJ4 and it was like having rubber steering. Now I'm running one of the high torque Tamiya ones that can turn a real car, but it's huge and I doubt will ever fit in a Pred.

I never ever damaged a servo in a pred, as long as it's decent and metal geared i wouldn't worry about it.

a plastic servo horn also flexes and saves servo's, but for that reason (flex) I prefer aluminium horns...

I installed a servo-saver in my X10.
