cheers by flashing do you mean jus passing 12v across each cell briefly like for a second or 2 ?

Ive just done mine, retested with a multimeter and they are now charging :)

Literally tap it on and off, don't hold it on, thats it. Mine shot up from 0.0v to 1.3v.

Now i just have to get up the balls to do it on my 4200's without blowing my hand off :D

This will work if there is a 'soft' short within the cell, this occurs when dendrites grow on one electrode, pierce the separator and short against the other electrode, effectively short circuiting the cell. Applying 12V at very high current through the soft short burns it away and the cell usually works again… The trouble is that it can sometimes locally melt the separator and makes the cell prone to further internal short circuits which could pose a safety risk

Do this at your own risk!

All batteries can be made to be dangerous under the wrong conditions. :bored:
