Have used an Etronix 2.4 set for the best few years and all has been well. When we got them 40 and 27 meg were still in use quite widely.
The units are good but it has been iincreasingly noticable that whilst these units become more and more popular, there does appear to be more weird interference type behaviour from cars.

So my question is, what are good options for stick sets that I can consider. I want to maintain a good UI for setting changes with LCD display. Would also look at getting a better set. Not running more than one car.

Cheers

Futaba 3GR is what I use and is reliable, although the Futaba-brand receivers are expensive.

Sanwa Gemini 2.4 looks good value but I have never seen one in action. Saw plenty of the old 40MHz version giving good service.

Sanwa Exzes is very popular and works well but is the most expensive.

There aren't any other "new" options out there for quality-brand 2.4 sticks.

I went from an Etronix 2.4Ghz to an old KO Esprit II 40Mhz and then converted it to 2.4Ghz for about £30 (including a reciever!)
Bargain, and its SOOOO much better than the Etronix.

I recently moved from KO Esprit 3 to Sanwa Exzes X after having a considerable increase in binding issues almost overnight and not had a problem since. I think the Sanwa grabs larger chunks of the 2.4ghz spectrum which can mean non Sanwa struggle to find a channel to operate on. I think the scale of the problem depends on how many Sanwa are operating at the same time! I never had problems with binding when running private practice.

It has taken a while to get used to the feel of the Sanwa after several years on the KO but I think I've finally broken the back of the change now!

There isn't many stick options to be fair, especially compared to wheel. I know some people who have taken to the Spektrum flight TX and with some stick mods, it seems a good lower priced option. I'm sure one of them will be on here soon to comment.

Very interesting toby, Ill check this out and see how much of a difference there is.

I foresee the new 5.2Ghz radio gear becoming popular fast, considering that all over the UK the 2.4Ghz frequencies are pretty packed before we ever switch on our transmitters!
Thanks for the info.

Well went for a KO stick set with 2.4ghz module.
Nice size receivers and the unit it a blast to hold.
Steering now seems a lot more responsive too.
