Hi,

I have recently got/getting back in the rc 1/10 cars after a lot of years out, feeling nostalgic I wanted to get myself a Schumacher ProCat but couldn't get one, so I ended up getting a CAT 2000 and dug out some of my old kit and got the car working.

I noticed the rear diff pulley and lay shaft pulley was damaged and worn, I presumes that the worn pulleys was the cause of the first snapped belt. I replace all the pulleys and belt and I the second new rear belt snapped.

Is there something I am doing wrong with the setup or is there something else that course cause a snapped belt?

What sort of surface are you running on? Any loose stones about? Have had stones get wedged between the belt and rear diff occasionally on mine when test running it on tarmac etc. Never snapped the belt but could see it potentially damaging them if not noticed. Other than that, how old are the replacement belts? Where stored etc? Could they be perished even though not used etc?

I'm using it mostly on a car park (but dose have some gravel. I have gone through 3 new belts, and changed the whole rear end apart from the drive shafts. The belts should last more than 1 battery charge :(

Oh well I guess I'll get a new car with driveshafts and not belts, anyone any recommendation? 1/10, electric.

are you like running ridiculus amounts of power ??

otherwise if you use the 6mm belt it should hold up a couple of races.

use the beltgard

and keep it tight.

Something must be wrong. I ran a CAT2000 with a 5.5R novak system in a few years back for a full season, without noticeable belt wear.
