Hi,

Talk to me on Sunday or next time at the track. I'll show you what I use.

Stuff with lead in it, not RoHos complaint junk.

I use solder which is a 63/37 mix of lead solder with no issues. This is or was at least a common industrial solder. I know how ever the is a solder with silver in it which is sold by a number of r/c companies which would be ideal. I think but am not sure it probably works out a little more expensive for the silver solder. Again the regular 63/37 works fine, try avoid lead free stuff unless u have a iron capable of reach the temperature require to melt this type of solder.

The club have a stand at the South Dublin Model Railway Club exhibition this weekend. Saturday to Monday 11.00 - 17.00 . All Components will be trading there and they sell various solders plus soldering irons.
