Not mine,but I've just spied it on E-Bay for sale.
Pretty nicely done too:

I converted my Meteor to a saddle pack chassis. It was aluminium, I got it from Calypso Models in York. A guy called Ste Hart owned the place but it closed down and I think he headed to London.

I'd say complete Meteor LWB(chassis,shell and front end)Optima or
PB gearbox with PB rear wheels.
Pretty nice tidy conversion.

Definitely an Optima mid rear gearbox/end including the shock towers, wing mount and wishbones etc - they've sealed off the opening where the drive belt would usually be. Looks interesting!

Been re-building a LWB Meteor myself over the past few weeks so this caught my eye... its an interesting concept & proves that nothing in R/C is ever a new thought (4wd rear end mated to the front of a 2wd car!) Mardave's simple Meteor was so often the subject of DIY modification.. but this is probably the most extensive i've seen yet! Judging by the foam tyres it ran in high grip conditions & I would imagine that the mid-motor format offered quite an advantage in the right hands?
The ebay auction has been re-listed, but at the same starting bid, personally I think the seller is a little optimistic?

I thought he was a bit on the optimistic side price-wise too Dan,
but I didn't want to mention that and upset the guy.
I did e-mail him(through E-Bay)and mention what I thought it was
made up of and he genuinely seems that he hasn't got a clue about it.
I bet it handles like a dream on a high grip surface(I agree with the
presumed use of it too,look at it's short rear shocks).
On the subject of DIY mods to simple Mardaves,my own Cobra sports
more Associated,Ansmann and home-grown parts than it does original
Mardave bits:lol::lol:
