I am thinking about having a go at 4wd.
What's the best budget 4wd out there that can be used at meetings up to regional level?
BTW as much as I love schumacher, I am jinxed with them, so they are ruled out.

I would have to say any of the B44's, I've gotten on better with them then anything else an they suit my driving style, I know someone that was an still is making the A final in our regionals with a B44

The Durango DEX410V3 or DEX410V3R have been recently reduced. They were selling brand new for £175 and £129 respectively. I think most places have sold out but the second hand value is now very competitive.
I have a 410V3 and found it suits an aggressive style of driving. Lots of grip out of corners on full power. Also lot of shiny options from Exotec and Trishbits to make them look better.
Another bonus is gear diffs and minimal maintenance. The only negative comment I would have is its a bit of a faff to change batteries, but the car is well made and very competitive.

I don't think there are many 'budget' 4wd cars out there !
If you are looking to buy 2nd hand bargains can be had but think you are still looking at £150+ for something decent. Best to see who runs what at your local club and see if there is anyone upgrading and if they have last years model for sale.
