View Full Version : new club? b.b.c.?
Just fishing for thoughts at the moment so asking would there be any interest in a Bromsgrove buggy club once a fortnight maybe as not to clash with sxr in solihull middle of the week probably while its too cold an dark out what you folks think ?
So nobody else in Worcestershire /south Birmingham thinks we need a indoor club night less than fifty or sixty miles away :(

I'm north Birmingham but me and my lad might be interested as wasn't aware of any indoor buggy racing in the area ( never heard of a club in Solihull?)
Sxr is cool but in a tiny hall and hit an miss when they run lately there's nothin other than flat carpet I'm aware of anywhere remotely near a few of us went to Leominster last winter but they've stopped off road sadly

Bromsgrove would be cool, i might be up for that. Only 10 miles or depending on where exactly.

Sounds like a great idea and much needed in the area. There is nothing running 1/10th buggy on rubber tires right the way down past bristol and up to north Birmingham.
I'd do my absolute best to support any club within a sensible drive of Cheltenham, such a shame that Calidicot is so far from me in terms of time, 50ish miles but would be at least 1.5hours down the A48 on a Friday afternoon.
Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Bromsgrove would be good. Sure some of the DXR & Risa lot would be interested as well, as a few of them also have 10th buggies now.

I also remember racing at pitcher oak school in redditch and at a school in northfield.
Unfortunately a Friday night would not be possible at the moment for me but best of luck with getting something sorted. Maybe it will help get some of the youngsters involved in the sport that wouldn't normally consider the bigger Sunday meetings (or parents having to attend).
The only thing for sure is it won't be a friday thats for drink in the shires:drool:

I think if you edit your opening post and then use the advanced edit option you can add in a poll so people can choose there preferred night.
Although a Wednesday sounds the most appealing to me lol

I'll be in occasionally, Bromsgrove only hour away tops.
Wednesday or Thursday would be good, but not Fridays. We have a decent club locally on a Friday which I struggle to get to due to the Mrs Stella calling hard by Friday afternoon.
Jeez matt you'll have to get her a new rabbit keep her sweet
Lunie I ain't bright enough to figure the poll out I've only got me phone for this net malarkey maybe rodger can add one to the thread he started

I'd certainly be interested in a buggy specific club instead of having to share the indoor season with gt12's and saloons on flat carpet all the time. Bromsgrove aint far.

As posted on the website and fb the other day, incase anyone hasn't seen:

WMCC Offroad Trial Night – Thursday 20th February
Following the popularity of the Micro's on Friday nights and the Kidderminster summer series, WorcesterMCC is pleased to announce the trialing of a dedicated offroad night.
The first night will be on Thursday 20th February, with the same timetable as Friday nights. Doors open at 7pm, racing starts at 7:45, 3 rounds and a final, doors close at 11pm.
Unfortunately due to hall availability it cannot become a weekly event. But if successful it will become a regular occurrence through the winter months. WorcesterMCC will need as much help and racers as possible to make this feasible, so if you can help with preparing the track and features or just attend it would be appreciated. Any suggestions or ideas please get it touch.
Classes: 1/10th 2wd, 1/10th 4wd & Micro’s
See you all on the 20th February!

Awesome news!
Are you requesting that people put something on their shock towers to protect the valuable carpet from potential damage.
I'll help in anyway I can mate, shame the timings make it dificult for me to get there early enough to help with the track layout but I'll always help to put away.
What would be required to make it more regular, is it a numbers thing or just simply no room at the hall? Aren't they building a new one too though ... maybe, just maybe ;)

Hi Roger,
Re: Shock tower protectors, probably not for the first event. But if it becomes regular, then we should probably request there use.
Unfortunately the hall is not available any other days. Yes you are right the school is developing a new dance studio etc, hopefully this may free up some other time slots. If it goes further, we would block book, so everyone should know in advance.
TBF, I wouldn't want to run it in the summer, with the onroad on Fridays and the kiddy summer series, there is more than enough going on! Let alone all the other series and nationals.
Pass on the word, lets see if we can get a decent turnout
I am working on the online booking-in, saves a bit of time on the night.

I here you Ross but with no other "clubs" running in the area (certainly heading south or east of Worcester) then I think a regular club night would be a bonus for the area all year round. Might encourage more racers in the area to run cars with ground clearance ;)
Maybe even encourage some new drivers!
Maybe we could move outdoors to the Kidderminster track on the drier & lighter evenings (both of them if the summer follows winters lead).
Maybe it gets to me more than some as without it I've got a 100mile+ round trip to my next nearest club!
Just a thought :)

Anything happening with the Bromsgrove thing?
Couldn't find a hall in Bromsgrove at a fair price and with the timing gear aswell as the brains being in Worcester it makes sense to head that way only another ten or fifteen mins away if your north of the grove so not too painful
RogerM

Worcester does make a lot of sense, Ross runs a tidy meeting & there should be no unpleasant surprises equipment wise. My guess is this meeting will be too popular not to generate a follow up meeting or 500 :)

How far is it Richie? For me it is about 27 miles, then again everything is a bit of a trek for me living on the most southernly edge of the region

If you went to Leominster before there's always Ludlow club. 12 miles north of Leominster so wouldn't take any longer to get to than Leominster did.
Details in sig :)
Video's on our Facebook page too.
This night looks good though and doesn't clash with Ludlow on Tuesdays :)

Shame Richie, would have been good to have you racing.
G' no way I could make it to Ludlow before about 8:30 on a weekday! Only reason I could make Leominster was because it was a friday & I had my mother living with me to look after barkboy.
