Spektrum DSM2 in Futaba Hack ?

Has anyone taken a broken Spektrum DX3 DSM2 transmitter apart to rob the transmitter section from it to build in to a Futaba module case ?
The only reason I ask is that Orange RX make a very compact DSM2 ground receiver which obviously is not compatible with my original Spektrum DSM Tx Module in my Futaba 3VCS.

Hoping for some advice.

The only way to do it would be to put all the internals from the DX3 into the Futaba, I have done this to KO Universe's but never a futaba, it will work it's just making the LCD fit and look nice.
