Dear members, following a successful Buggy Blitz meeting today, 4 of our members decided to stay behind to chat about the day's events.

Sadly the conversation over ran and they are now locked within the school perimeter. Sadly the school's phone is going to answer machine and nobody can find the caretaker's mobile number.

as a result, Dave Dodd, his daughter Abi, Martin Smith and his fiance Tash will be spending the weekend at the school under lock-down.

This will be particularly hard on Abi, martin and Tash as they will have to put up with Dave and his stories of when he last got locked in the school. To help them through this terrible time I have set up a food and clothing bank for them. If you are able to help in any way then your kind donations would be greatly appreciated.

Ear plugs would also be welcome

If you are unable to donate, then simply reply to this thread with a comment relating to their level of muppetry displayed today.

Many thanks.

Pity they couldn't have let 3 of them out and kept Dave in there! :woot:

That's hilarious, imagine it had taken till Monday for them to be rescued. Surely by then a Lord of the Flies scenario would have played out with Dave as the tyrannical chief.

I got to a good half of the post before realising it is a joke!!
I was getting worried, kind of thinking "I gotta go and help them!!"..

Hilarious!;)

Sadly some of it, is definitely true. We were locked in and the caretaker was nowhere to be seen. After walking the grounds trying to find him, Chris thankfully sent me the non emergency number which I phoned for help, then texted me the caretakers number and mentioned that a certain key would fit, as it turns out after nearly an hour of walking up and down the driveway (partly to keep warm) I had a key in my car all along..
Totally not impressed with the situation and felt quite bad about it, especially as Abi, Martin and Tash where there too.
Caretaker Dave had not mentioned that he needed to be somewhere in a hurry, as we would have rushed off the premises.

At least there was a happy ending.

I must say that when you phoned me Dave I was initially in hysterics (not helped by the fact that Amanda fell off her chair laughing!!!) but when I realised I didn't have the caretaker's number I did become concerned. I was toying with the idea of returning to the school and throwing my tent, sleeping bags and bag of fish + chips over the gate!

Fortunately, as club secretary I had the phone numbers of every member so started phoning around - as it turned out Max had received a phone call from caretaker earlier in the week so was able to reach him that way. When he answered the phone I could tell he was laughing his head off but at least you got out!!

Quite alright mate, Sort of feel bad as I was going to stay and chat But I needed to get home (received a text informing me that the Hornet has finally arrived :D)

Amanda was ok, no more hurt than I was when I fell over marshalling:lol:

What you have to remember about me Martin is that I do give sympathy, but it normally appears in the form of public humiliation:p
