Speed Passion Reventon Pro issues

Had a problem with my reventon pro esc today,running in an RB6 7.5t motor gearing 23/24t pinion, kit spur, at the end of the race, last 10 seconds it would cut in the overheat protection,no boost timing on it and motor timing at 0 degrees punch control on 4,turned off the heat protection and the yellow and red lights were flashing after the next race?

Any help would be appreciated

From looking at the manual, flashing red and yellow means that both over heat and low voltage have been triggered.
TBH, I've switched both mine off. And only run for 10 minutes in training, and get nowhere near the limits that i was supposedly close to or over.
If you have an ir temp probe, just check the actual temp after you've raced or during practice to make sure,but if you are running with a fan, it's very unlikely to really be over the limit. And if you start with a fully charged pack, of reasonable size, you should be able to run for 10 minutes or more before getting down to lvc levels.
I just think the rev pro safety cut offs are too sensitive.

I turned the over heat protection off but didn't really like doing that

I had a similar problem and found out it was the fan :confused: The ESC would normally run totally fine and would never really get very hot (7.5T speed passion 76/22), but on occasions my car would cut out with the same overheat flashing lights.

After fiddling around with it for a bit, I realised the fan was sticking due to dust build up. Having the fan plugged in and not turning is essentially like creating a short circuit, causing the ESC to overheat instantly.

I took the dodgy fan off for the rest of the meeting and then replaced it the following week and the ESC has been working perfectly ever since 5 months on :)

I was quick to think the ESC was faulty when in fact its overheat protection did its job and saved its life!!!

I turned the over heat protection off but didn't really like doing thatThat's what the temp probe is for. I've run 15 mins with it off and only hit 70 degC, and that's with a 6.5t in a 410.
Do a test run, race pace for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 min. Stop and check regularly.

To put it into perspective, even the ESC thinks it's only at 60 odd degC when it cuts out. I've run it with the bluetooth dongle before, and connected within 15 seconds of cut out.
Or try running a different firmware. Some of them have a different set up.
