Paul, very nice paintjob.. I want to apologize since now for any crashes in next races!

For me just bits and pieces.. I now have a body reamer!!

Mardave looks ace, are you going to run it Friday? If you are I'll bring mine along buddy :D

Did you shave the front wings due to tyre rub? What spec Contact foams do you have fitted?

What motor and ESC did you shot for in the end?

i will do scott,
okay okay the chassis may be run once just to keep you chaps happy but the body will not be used for racing, it would break me spending around 16 hours on a body just for it to get wrecked in the first turn
its all done now though... just awaiting the hop up drive belt

cunawarit

Cheers guys :) and yes, I'll be racing the Mardave on Friday. Properly too, I won't take the TL01 as a spare just so I can switch to that when the Dave doesn't work.

I may be tempting fate, but if it is really awful I guess I'll just pack up in a rage and go home ;)

PS: Martin, that rocks!

PPS: Santa also brought me one of these Protoform shells:

http://www.kotte-zeller.de/$WS/kotte-zeller-shop/websale8_shop-kotte-zeller-shop/produkte/medien/bilder/gross/900628_2.jpg

And one of these Tamiya beauties:

http://www.tamiyausa.com/images/product/710/51202/header_51202.jpg

More likely than not the Camaro will be blue (Sunoco inspired perhaps?) and the Ferrari red.

Only drivers running to the rules will receive points, i.e. Tc with rubber tires, 13.5 motor and zero timing or blinky.

Points or not huge straight line speed disparity is not something I am too keen on when running a fragile car.

I have a 13.5 motor in mine with a stage 1 fast gear set .. I don't want it to be to quick, it may fall apart :D after all its only a £80 tub chassis.

My only concern is being rammed up the derriere by the 7.5t lads

Not that i'm concerned because I don't cheat, but how will you tell if they are not running to the rules without scutineering the cars and checking?

Tbh I think TC might have been ruined already so stick to clubman

Why is it ruined and what would you do to fix it? Serious question.

siddus74
02-01-2014, 02:49 PM
Is it broken? From what I can see on an average week there are only a handful of drivers ....

Where have the rest vacated too?

I don't have a problem with being slower than the rest, I have learned the only person your racing really is yourself, for lap times - yielding to faster cars is sensible, but the fact remains a 'hyper' car is very likely to come into contact with a 13.5 powered car on the straight.

A few of the really, really fast cars in that class seem really unpredictable as well, so even if you did try and yield a collision is still likely.

So as regards to fixing it if it is indeed broken - .... "enforce the rules if possible"

If not, let the class be outlaw and free for all, I can't see why anybody would want to run a class where there are not any rules personally, and most drivers would vacate a class where the rules are being broken and cheating exists ... hang on, how many drivers have been racing touring recently? :D

I thought brca 13.5 was blinky, I could be wrong

Dave Dodd

Tbh the fastest cars on track are running the correct motor. A couple of lads were running 10.5, I believe they have changed them now.

I ment new to our club this year as it's of in our rules,
No BRCA is 13.5 is boosted,it's 17.5 that's blinky

I want it to be the same as brca so it's 13.5 open (boosted) same as rug racers

siddus74

You can do masses with gearing, I have a shui Mi5 that's only running a 17.5 and the with the gearing installed was too fast for me so I ran the throttle @ 80% epa.

Scott.

reg
02-01-2014, 03:58 PM
Ruined is the wrong word,
I not a problem running a slower car and getting beaten by a faster car if they are running to the rules,as if I do run TC again it will be 17.5 blinky as that's what me and Lee are running at the BTCC

Scott.

Lee ran 17.5 and was no slower as it's easyer to drive the infield, isn't so critical on setup, but you are open to the speed of the 13.5 up the straight.

Bizzare though, ran it lots of times! easily 15 to 20 tests indoors and then this morning bang...

Chris56

Could it be that the Saddle Lipos were just that bit too much for it, whereas you Voltz cells have a lower capacity/c rating so didn't damage it?

I bought one of them a few years ago and it had no brakes lol,I think it was a viper,I rang and they said " you have to use reverse to slow down"
All well and good but it needed two full movements on the reverse function to activate it,by that time it was to late anyway lol

Just double checked, this is the one i've got:

Chris56
03-01-2014, 03:45 PM
Hopefully not - I know there was a bit of rule breaking last series but the class rules (for every class, not just TC) will be re-asserted from tonight.

cunawarit
03-01-2014, 04:15 PM

You're going a bit soft there Chris!

On a serious note we can't scruntineer every car but if somebody is not conforming to the class rules then they will be dealt with individually, depending on whats wrong with their car. Wrong tyres? put the right ones on or see if you can borrow a set. Too fast a motor? put a slower one in or turn your throttle down.

siddus74
03-01-2014, 04:41 PM

I'm hoisting the V8 out of the Camaro, I am sure I can shoehorn it into the Mardave and start it somehow!

Chris56
03-01-2014, 04:50 PM
I'll be watching you tonight Scott!

I might be naive in say this but people tend not to cheat, and that they simply don't conform because they weren't aware of the rules for their class or because "he ran foams last week"

You do get the occasional idiot turn up who drives around whilst the track is being set up or does donuts on the track when a race is running, but they will be dealt with differently.

Chris56
