I am in the market for the P-CB3VCHF/2.4G combo. Will this work OK with my two existing servos?

Futaba S9550
KO PS713

I did read some threahds about certain units frying servos?

Thanks
Neil

Hi Neil,

What transmitter is that, don't recognise it?

If the receiver in the combo is the R603FS I have used that with a 3VCS and the S9550 with no problems before!

P-CB3VCHF/2.4G is the full part number for the 3VCS combo (it is the one quoted on the microtech and Ripmax websites). It does come with the R603FS receiver so i hope it is OK. How have you got on with your 3VCS?

I've really liked it, very good combo set, and not had any problems with either S9550/KO2413/Hitec/Older Futaba's, so think it works with most things!

DAVE: PS713 is not a digital servo so may not work and if it does work it may get fried.

I assume you mean Neil??

True though, shouldn't sound more sure than I am, I think all the servo's I have used are digital, so wouldn't know how an analogue works with it... I always thought (not 100% sure though!) they were fine with the futaba though, as long as you don't select HRS, may be worth checking this out??

Yeh, sorry, NEIL

It is my understanding (and I'm no expert here) that the 3VCS is Digital, period.

The slower modes, ie PPM, do seem to work fine with most analogue servos, though I have heard of some servos being fried in this mode (mostly hi-tec). I have used older KO analogue servos with no problem in my cars in the past, using non HRS 40mhz receivers in PPM mode. So your PS713 will probably be fine.

I use my old KO which is about 12 years old with futaba 3vcs 2.4 ghz system and have no problems with it. Same with a ps715 and one of the digital ones.

I've got a Futaba 3GR 2.4ghz (the lower spec model) and it has PPM and HRS modes. The supplied receiver is an R603FF but it works quite happily with the R603FS. I thought the 3VCS had PPM and HRS too so if you run it in PPM mode it should be fine.

Only just got around to installing my new gear.

The KO 713 does not like HRS.. it screams like a little piggy when hooked up. I dont seem able to select PPM mode on the 3VCS.. you can get the option on the screen but it does not allow you to select it... i assume the 2.4hgz module prevents you running ppm.. but does anyone know?

The Futata 9550 runs just fine though.

Looks like the 713 will be going in my sons car and that I am in the market for a new digital servo...
