Hello

my Radio control (3PK ) has the posibility to change between right and left hand configuration...
as an left handed guy, i always was thinking about, if it would give me an advantage to use the radio control in left handed configuration.
Since more then 15 years, i drive always in right hand configuration, but i would say, after 3-4 years driving, my improvments in driving skills are poor, that means im constantly one turn behind the fastest drivers here in switzerland, and it dosent matters how much i train. It is like running in walls...
During driving, i am feeling always a bit unsafe on steering, but the throttle control is quit good, mistakes during driving are most influencend by a "digital" steering habitude...
What do you guys think? Is that normal? What are the expiriences of the left handed drivers? How do you drive?
I hpe you can give me some hints, because i am getting a bit pi**** of my hobby the last 2 years.

greetings from switzerland

Only real way to check is to try it!

Maurice,
I'm a left hander but have driven right handed with different steerwheel transmitters since 1985.
The risk you run is then making your throttle control less natural - plus your instincts will be confused as you try to re-learn how to drive.
Have you tried dialling in some exponential on the steering - in order to slow the response slightly around the neutral position? That will make the steering a little safer during the initial steering inputs.

Personally, I can't drive with any expo but I know of some very top drivers who swear by it.
I would try that first before swapping your wheel around.

yes :) try different ways of right hand positions

i know many left hander who drive normal configuration. there is no better sticks or pistol left or right. it has to feel right

Hi to all

thanx for your replies
i tried different steering wheels positions, with the steering wheel in the highest position it went best.
Putting the steering wheel on the other side was quite funny...minus two front wishbones...

Thank you all once again

Im a left hander , ive allways used stick radios and ive never thought there was any problems.
As for steerwheel radios ive never fancied one as i felt that i could never control the wheel as precisely as a stick as i feel it doesnt feel natural , rather ironic as the steerwheels meant to resemble a car steering wheel.
To be honest its hard for me to find a problem as just like scissors for cutting paper i got used to it.
I remember i couldnt use left handed scissors as when i grew up i allways used normal scissors.

Erm not sure if i ve thrown any helpful light on the subject or just darkened it further?:(

try my way, if no-one else has said this,

leave the 3pk as standard configuration,

hold it with your right hand, hence using your right index finger to operate the trigger

then hold it across your body with steering wheel facing away from your body, and use your left hand to steer with.

i am right handed in case you were wondering
