View Full Version : Orion VST2 pro motors?
What is general opinion on the vs. LRP X20 in terms of power and smoothness? Cheers.
I got one of each 7.5 the lrp on a flow wt runs hotter but just as smooth as the orion r10 brakes as nice and punches so much harder I got a vst6.5 that still doesn't feel as pokey as the x20 7.5 low down

Cheers for the reply, so you find them equally as smooth? I have a 7.5 X12 with a SXX MK.1 and want something much smoother low down....
I think I do I got the updated software on the flow and don't use much trigger at all on the infield with it and find myself using more trigger with the orion everywhere the flows now in db2 for high grip and the orions in the rb6 need a mild day to try um back to back now you got me thinkin

X12's and X20's are like chalk and cheese x20s are fast full stop x12s have a torquey bottom end are not as strong on the very top end bit still quick motors
I love xtec stuff (nosram/lrp)

If you want something with smoother low down power than an X12 then an X20 isn't the answer, whilst a X20 is an improvement over the x12 it is still very much more of the same.

Never used LRP motors but the Orion VST2 motors are super smooth and don't get particularly hot. Great motors.

Let me know how you get on, you use the R10 with the Orion motor? Cheers.
Yep R10 wit the vsts' as soon as shell lands for the db I'll get both over kiddy weather permitting
Doesn't the feel come more from the esc than the motor ?

Orion motors I've used (vst version1) are super smooth / run cool but are not as fast as my x12 lrp's. The x12's are silly powerful - too much so IMO.
Just got an x20 to try but went for a 7.5 for use in 4wd.
I had an Orion 6.5 in there previously but needed a touch more power, I would have gone to a 5.5 if I'd stuck with Orion - but a friend was running an X20 7.5 and it looked great so decided to try that instead.
Makes motor choice tricky when different makes perform so differently for the same wind.
