Evening, looking for some advice on this strange problem. I ordered a new 6.5T stator for my thunderpower motor but it doesnt seem to fit! I have 2 x 13.5 stators and a 10.5 stator and they all fit correctly but this 6.5T seems to be about 1mm longer than the other stators, meaning when I put it together, there is a 1mm gap all the way around between the end bell and the can. I took the white insulating out of the end of the can and that didnt make any difference.

I cant see any major differences in the stators - anyone come across this before - is it ok to run with this small gap or should I look to get a replacement?

Any advice appreciated! Thanks

**EDIT - I have just measured the magnet depth of the 6.5T and it is 20.42mm compared with 19.68mm for my 13.5 and 19.60 for the 10.5 so it looks like that is where the extra is coming from! SO I guess the answer is that I cant do anything about it - its just a case of being able to use it or not!**

Chris

Are you making your old motor 13.5 and 10.5 into a 6.5 or fitting the 6.5 to a 6.5?
The first two are spec motors and the later is mod and have different rotors to suit.

Ah thanks for the reply Mark - yep youve got me, putting a mod stator into an orignal stock spec motor so yep, I have the wrong rotor - best option is just to order a 6.5T motor and have aspare stator - but as the cans are the same, I will still have the same issue if I come to use this stator.

Lesson learned I guess!

I've got a feeling that the cans are different.

thanks matt, checked the TP website and can only see one part listed - however, off racing today and someoneis bringing an origianl 8.5T so I can double check.
