Tekin do you mean, their 10th scale system isnt released yet, their 18th is ace though, so good, Jimmy is hogging it!!!

Brushless isn't allowed at any BRCA off road event yet, when is the kick in date, beginning of the year or April 1st?

OH BALLS !

its still on my workbench
ITS THAT GOOD :p

Seriously, it is great. Afaik the Tekin brushless should be released quite soon, do you know any more DCM ?

From what I've seen, it should be quite small too.

Brushless isn't allowed at any BRCA off road event until April 1st? Is that when the 2007 rules kick in?

not true, it was allowed at all 'end of season finals' events THIS year, and regional as well.

it was only not allowed at nationals.

with regard for when the 'new' rules decided at the AGM, I really don't know when they take effect. but it was decided last year that brushless was allowed at regional descirssion and end of season finals.

Ahh ok, i didn't know about last year. I was getting confused with the released rules and the homoligation of the new systems.

Gonna say, I was running brushless at bury regional early this year.
I also was the only one in the A final at the F345 to be running brushless

25mmx25mm (1"x1") footprint from what I understand. Christmas, but that is speculated, it might be delayed but it has been in testing for nearly a year, so hopefuly the time frame should be good.

Steve, any idea when the non brushless pro version is due out, fancy one of them :)

They should be out about the same time, Jon.

Does look very nice. Are the guys running heatsinks and / or fans as well ? in fact, do you have one steve?

He / we wish.

From what we hear and the specs now available the system seems ace. We have been assured both power and driveability are excellent so I can't wait to get mine!

As soon as I or Dan get one, we will let you know.

Jimmy, Jims offer still stands, just you need to email him!!

Sorry for dragging up this thread but it looks very interesting.

Can anyone answer the following...

Can it run any brushless motor currently on the BRCA list - as in the Novak and LRP motors?

Where does the sensor wire plug in?

It certainly may solve the problem of fitting the Novak GTB into an X-6, without serious chassis altercations... (pics to be posted when I fit the damn thing in!!!)

:p

the Tekin unit should be able to run most if not ALL the brushless motors on the market for racing. The sensor wire gets dumped into your pitbox as it doesn't require or have anywhere to plug it in, being a 'sensorless' brushless system.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed to get one of the first batch if not the first one of these in the country. If I have it after Christmas I'll use it at York regional and/or the Batley supercup.

I also see some servos are coming out too :)

DCM

they are micro servo's at the moment Dan, but 10th scale ones will come later. Brushless is exciting!!!

Tower has 1/1th ones listed too. I actually find my 2123 is almost too fast in 2wd so the 0.11 one I think will be perfect. Fingers crossed it's all out soon, then roll on the new charger!

Oh... I thought they had an 18th scale done.... not 10th, ACE!!

Any news on a release date for these Bad Boys yet????

DCM

from what I understand, it will be January now, not sure why, but well worth the wait, as it will run brushed (no limit) as well.

Any further news on these ESCs?

There must be something with brushless stuff. It always seems to take forever to come out. I mean we've been waiting years for the Mamba Monster Max to come out, and we're still waiting. Although the Mamba Max kicks ***.

Tekin are trying to get the R1Pro to be able to drive the Novak motors and it is giving them some headache but are nearly there, plus they have been let down in the board manufacturing department, as they have to out-source the board making at the moment (SMT components needs a machine to do it, ultra expensive), and the company who has been doing it has let them down.

DCM,

Do you know what other motors they have been testing with the speedo? If I were to purchase one I'd be using it with Orion Vortex motors.

Also, does anyone know if a sensorless system makes the circuit board in the motor redundant? I ask because when these get wet with a sensor based system it can cause it to stop working. Presumably if it's not being used it shouldn't cause a problem, wet or not?

Thanks.

I've seen people use the Novak motors with a MM. Works fine, the only motors that don't work are the Neu motors. But then again those are made for monster trucks. However, there is supposed to be a software update the fixes the Neu problem.

The Tekin can't and wont use the Hal sensor in the motor.

The Tekin unit will work with any motor, they are refining the drive software as they are getting a small amount of cogging on sensored motors (mainly the Novak units) and Tekin won't be happy releasing them with that issue.

Looks like the R1 brushless speedos are imminent, if the website is anything to go by. It certainly looks very neat.

Tekin hompeage (http://www.teamtekin.com)

Presumably the issues with Novak motors have been ironed out? Does anyone know if the R1 and R1 Pro will be released at the same time?

DCM

I would assume they would be released at the same time, being that they are the same, all bar the FET's used. I know I think they struck it right on the hardware and powering the Novak units, I shall try to dig and find more information for you.

DCM,

have you managed to dig up any more info? Are the units actually in production now or not quite?

Thanks.
