It is a sad day, John Button (Jenson's Dad) passed away on Sunday.

As he opened the Mendip Model Motor Racing Circuit many years ago I feel it would be a remiss not to mention the sad news.

Maybe some of the older member's on this forum can remember watching John Button in Rallycross meetings from Brands Hatch and Lydden Hill on Grandstand? Great driver and a legend in his own right!

So, maybe something should be done by way of a tribute?

A full size circuit would name a corner after him, a race or maybe even an event?!?!

Well said Mark and I agree as he did open the venue many years ago it would be a shame not to mark it in some way

A sad day
Maybe a plaque on the rostrum would be a good idea.

That is really sad news...since he will always be someone who has connection to the club I agree it would be a nice gesture to do something in respect of this. I'm not sure what, but I'm sure we can come up with something appropriate.

RIP!

Great ideas though, would be really nice to do something seeing as John opened the onroad track.

perhaps a memorial day in the summer and invite some of the founder members to come and donate any proceeds to a favoured charity.

it would also be good to notify Jenson of any plans before hand
