For the summer series I am fairly sure that you would be able to run anything so long as they fitted the general construction guide lines so;
batteries :- commercially available, hardcased, 7.4V nominal
motor :- commercially available, 540 sized etc.
esc :- free, no blinky class or anything to confuse the issue
One thing that will have to be upheld is LiPos connected to a charger will have to be in a LiPo bag at all times.
The intention of the series is for fun, yes there will be a few of us wanting to put on a decent show of speed but ultimately it is about generating a fun and friendly race day atmosphere. The more the merrier really, newbies - experienced, young-old, fast-slow .... so long as your smiling we won't care much.
If I am wrong one of the other guys will be along shortly to correct me ;)

Really looking forward to this series, so much so I think I'm going to try and run both 2wd and 4wd (cue driving them both like the other class needs)
