New season what new car to buy

In need of a 4 wd for the new season can't decide its got to be easy to set up and good out the box not to many hop ups ( k1 aero , b-maxlll , dex410v4):confused:

they all pretty much cool out the box.

the 44.2 is probably where id go, I have the K1 and 44.2 and 44.2 is a lot easier maintenance and good if your new, the K1s take tweaking, that some don't like.

K1 is a great car very fast and easy to drive but requires several after market expensive bits to improve performance and durability

B44.2 is a great car and very easy to drive, also very durable and has several after market hop ups and blingy bits if your interested.

X-ray XB4 is a brilliant car and fast as feck out the box electrics in and ready to win

the losi 22-4 seems like an awesome machine as well.
raced against one yesterday and it was flying


as always the choice has to come down to you, what your driving style is like and what others at your local club have.
if everybody is running B44's and you turn up with a K1 finding help setup wise is going to be an issue

alloy front and rear gear box tops, alloy yokes
if you got a standard K1, then the big bore shocks will help stabilise it on bumpy tracks
S1 chassis to give more flex

Job done gear diffs as standard no belts simple to work on despite looking quite complicated and bloody quick

Even quicker with proper tyres on the front :p


I would also recommend the XB4. Build manual and quality of the kit is brilliant, best on the market in my opinion.
Car has been fairly easy to setup and get going, no need for a raft of upgrade parts, the only parts I have fitted are the exotek cvd cups and steering rack.
Car has been very durable, with quite a few high speed tumbles that have resulted in no breakages, the same crash would have totalled my lazer

xb4 is fine if your a smooth driver. Over aggression and they seem to destroy diffs.
iv had an out the box yoke bmax 4 2, kyosho lazer zx5 sp fs2 and now run for tlr with the 22-4. Out of them all. Out the box the yoke was great at maritime. You could really fling it about without issue. The lazer was more unforgiving driven hard. Took a lot of work to really make it work for me. The losi 22-4 has just been a weapon though. Smooth, easy to drive out the box, a pleasure to build. Strong as an ox as well after a one shunt i had was shouted out as "that's broke!" but it carried on with no bent parts. Id seriously consider the tlr. Iv made a small real oil change and put blue front springs on, pink rears then moved the bottom of the shocks. Iv added the roll bar kit to see what it does but out the box a great car!
