DaveG28 no worries about you turning up at ten. We will be having an open practice for a while to let people turn up and have a go around the track. Pre-booking is advised so that we know that you are coming.

PaulUpton this is the first year we have done it so no pictures of a full layout, don't think i have got any of the ramps as i am usually racing in off-road on a club night. Entry list, I will sort it out.

Right due to popular request, competitors list has been added to the site.

http://rj.wbmcc.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=70&Itemid=70

Lets get a load more entries in and fill it up a bit more guys.

DaveG28: It does say that on the website but this will probably be changed on the day at drivers briefing. Not sure 3 rounds of round by round qualifying would work. Watch this space.

Just to let you know the opening time for saturday will now be 9:30am and not 9:00am as stated on the website. I will e-mail everybody who has booked in for this event but if you are turning up on the day then you can now leave half an hour later.

Great day today. Thanks to WBMCC. Pitty the turnout was not massive. Dont know why. Track was good and its a great venue for offroad due to its size. Will deffo be at the next one. Did some vids so people can see what they missed out on!!!:p

What tyres do people use in 2wd at west bridgeford?

I'm guessing it would be minipin rear but what about the front?

ribbed or mini pins depends on you really

Minipins all round work well, but they do seem to wear down quite quickly. Staggered ribs work well to but don't offer as much steering as the minipins. Minispikes destroy themselves quite quickly so I wouldn't suggest them as a good front choice. Personal preference really, if you like quick steering then pins on the front, if you want your car to be more stable then staggered ribs all the way.

Results are up after round one and can be found here:-

The second round of the series will be my first off road race in a long time, and first time out with my Cat SX!!

Just wondering where to start with the gearing with a speed passion 5.5t, and what tyres work best in 4wd!!

Many Thanks

Doors will open at 9:30am for all rounds.

Five Races, four rounds of qualifying, best 2 to count and one five minute final. Points scored for both.

AS for ramps and stuff I will hopefully be getting some more stuff in for the next round and then the third round hopefully we will have built our new modular ramps which we are planning meaning we will be overrun with ramps.

A couple of us are thinking of coming up on saturday if places are still available? Also with all the chaos of what cells are legal, are the trak power 3200 & 4800 saddle packs allowed for racing?

Robbiejuk
12-11-2008, 12:45 PM
yeah they can be used. We do ask however if you are charging lipo batteries to charge them in a lipo sack. If you don't have one we have a few that can be brought/hired on the day.

Oh yes and there are plenty of places available. Either pre-book through the site http://rj.wbmcc.com (http://rj.wbmcc.com/) or just turn up on the day.

Mains power is available mate. Finishing time was about 4pm I think last time. As for gearing, depends on you car??

Thanks for the reply.

Car is a xxx / zx5 hybrid.

Gearbox intenal ratio is 2.5 (zx5 back end) - spur gear 75.

Been a few years since I raced indoor off road and never raced brushless or lipo before., so am a bit clueless on gearing.

Well this will be probably absolutley no help at all but on a 6.5 I am running an overall ratio of 9.22 which on your car would be about a 20 tooth pinion but as you are running a 10.5 I would have thought you would need to gear it higher than that. I know in my touring car i have had to gear the nuts off my novak 10.5 to get any straight line out of it. I would start on a 22 pinion and work from there.

I have no problem with you bringing the car down for the practice at the start if you would like to try it out, Doors open at 9:30 and there will probably be an hours practice before the racing starts. I would like to see the car in the flesh to

Nottingham is great for christmas shopping so why not drop the missus off in town with your credit card and have a day of racing whilst she has a day of shopping.

Looking forward to it :D

Dammit. Unfortunately I will be in Scotland, knee-deep in mud riding my bike around in circles for 24 hours. Shame as the last one was so good. Unless............someone breaks my legs, then I won't be able to ride my bike so won't have to go, then I can come. Any volunteers to push me around all day?:D

Ok this saturday is round 5 of the WBMCC Indoor Off-road championships. I know that it is valentines day and some of you will have to do some serious making up with your other halfs if you do attend but it would be nice to have more than 8 people there like we had last time.

Remember you will get 4 rounds of qualifying plus a final and a decent amount of practice time to tune your cars so even you cannot qualify for the championship now it would be a great practice day for you. :D

Plus if you are planning on going to Broxtowes club night that evening it means you can get your car nicely set-up for that to as we will finish with plenty of time for you to grab some dinner and get your cells charged up ready for the meeting at greasley.

So if you are not all loved up on satruday then come along to a great days racing. :D
