Lipo help

1st time out fit ages with my truggy, jump a little bigger than I thought and this is what the lipo looks
Question it still works but should I use it top bit is a bit damaged

You may have damaged the internals of that cell. Which may cause a "whoopsie" next time you run the car.
I'd be discharging and binning that, then buying a decent hardcase to replace it.

Don't use it. From your description of the incident and the state of the cell, looks like you've had a non-catastrophic internal short, hence the puffing in the pack. You've probably damaged the plastic insulators and any further vibrations could make that worse.

Fill a bucket with salty water, dump the LiPo in it and leave it for a couple of weeks. That will safely fully discharge it so you can take it to the local recycling centre.

As said above, get one with a hard case. Never run soft-case LiPos in a car as you can see what happens! Personally, I think you were lucky it wasn't worse! HTH :)

Not quite. Fully discharge it first! Then dump it in the salty water. Preferably at the top of the garden.

When fully discharged like this you should be able to dispose of in the normal rubbish. But if you want to check with your local authority recyclers then do that also.

I did one last week. Discharged to 3v at about 0.5A on the charger. Then took the rest out using a load. The brca lipo guru recommended using a bulb for the final discharge. I only had a 2ohm load available at the time, but that worked fine.
