The Ribble Rats are now back from being on tour, and what a weekend we had!

The whole thing started back in November 2013, when Schumacher/Team Durango's number one biff, Steven Flannagan, decided that in order to better our driving styles we needed to up our game. It was decided that a road trip to the nationals at Silverstone was in order. The Rats booked in and plans were made.

Looking at the entries list, the likes of Lee Martin and Tom Cockerill thought they had got away lightly when they saw Derek Tattersall, Jonny Allen and John Dewhurst all in the reserves list! There luck soon ran out when the top 3 Rats were confirmed as entrants! This was partly down to the fact that Fanny-gans Mrs had put her foot down with a firm hand and he pulled out at the last hurdle.

So the trip was in turmoil, who could we take the micky out of now you ask? The banter was shared equally between us and all was taken in good spirits.

Each and everyone of us followed the BRCA rules to the book, approved batteries, approved motors and a minimum of 6 pints prior to racing! Well I say all of us, John D let the side down by opting for a shandy and bangers and mash!

Lee the DelBoy Akeroyd had clearly had to much to drink as he was under the impression that Gaz was selling him a top notch charger and power supply for a mere 10 bob note!

So race day was upon us, the rats were up early in order to beat the rush hour traffic...........to mac d's!

Mac d's down and gaz finally sourcing some inserts for his rear wheels and silverstone was upon us!

I dont want to bore you with how well we performed in heats 1,2,3 and 4 but the highlight has to be the point in which the commentator was telling Derek Tattersall to move over and let the leader through otherwise he would be sent home! Luckily for Dezmond he wasnt sent home and the jammy bas**@d won a brand new Schumacher KF after purchasing a £5er's worth of raffle tickets!

Joking aside, what a weekend! Brilliant club, driving standards and organisation that are out of this world and I can strongly recommend it to anyone!

Get your names down and get racing!

You wont be disappointed!

Peace out and keep racing!

Rats out!!!!!
