Hi all

Ive just started racing a Cat K1 Aero, and on tight bends, its just spinning away from me constantly. Im running the larger pin tyres on it, have ride height set to about 25mm, and all shocks are running the standard 30 oil which came with it

Ive even had some of the other racers give it a blast and they are finding the same issues on handling

Im racing on an indoor gym hall, so surface is pretty slippery

Any advice on set up?

Paul

i wouls recommend a setup from petit rc to start with.

i can think of a few things i would change.

the ride height ( if the floor is flat ) drop down to +/- 18mm or so .
anti roll bars 40WT in front.

and with what tyres are the rest driving? that is stil the most important part .

maybe you could try someting like schumacher minipin silver ?
or very soft slicks ?

General question:

which setup do you use?
which tyres do you use? 6517? Like hans said: tyres are the most important factor.
which optional parts do you use?
- driving style? heavy finger on the gas?

I do not understand the issue. Does it understeer? Oversteer? no grip at all?

In general:
- In the front I always use the roll bar
- 25mm is quite a lot. Use "maximum low. For me: 20mm
- no camber front (handbook says -1°, but I like "neutral" more)
- 2° toe in front, 2,5 rear
- travel of the steering servo?
- Ackermann?

Hello paulainscow,
I have had the same problem.
I have tried many setups and it did not help, the car ran well enough better but had the same problem.
until my car was in the hands of one of Schumacher's drivers.
he saw that my servo was plugged into the rear holes. so the link between the servo and steering Mouldings was not quite right, it was angled and were not straight.
He also found out that my battery was very light, they weighed 65g less than other drivers at my track.

so he line the link propper with the Steering Moulding, and add more weight in the back. (new batteries/65g more weight)
and now i was also able to lower my right height to 19mm, and even less is it was needed, now with the 65g more weight in the back

My K1 was like a new car, ran more stable, and now i was able to run my car fast in the corners without the backend spinning away.

I really hope this can help you, it surely did for me and my K1 :)

I think before any advise can be given
What surface are you running on
What tyres are you using are they the same as everybody else
What setup are you running oils pistons springs etc
What esc setting are you running (the car is probably overpowered)

From what you have mentioned so far it's a setup issue

Had the same issue and moved rear pivot pin mounts to the high positions not the low and it cured it.

If you find my previous post with the same issue you can find some answers.
