Hope someone can help - I have purchased a 2nd hand b44.1 which I am currently putting electrics into. This is my first one for 25 years so a bit baffled by all new ESC and brushless motor stuff.
I have got all installed and steering servo works, but motor only runs in reverse (i.e. When throttle trigger pushed away, not pulled).
I am using an Absima crp3 radio with speed passion reventon S with v3 9.5 motor. I think everything is set right so is this simply a programming issue for the radio?
Any advice gladly received

Throttle reverse on the tranny ?

Hmm, I wondered that, but wouldn't that still mean the motor runs in forward and reverse, but just wrong way around? I haven't fitted motor yet so don't know if the reverse function would make car Go in reverse?

If memory serves with Speed Passions you have to set throttle to reverse.
Brushless works completly different to old school brushed esc's and motors.
Hope this helps.

Hhmmm.. Have you installed the motor and connected up to the esc or not?
Anyway, if the esc is set for forward and brake only, the radio controls are maybe reversed.. I.e. You get reverse and brake but not forward.. ALSO Some esc's give a slight pause before reverse is engaged, or sometimes you have to trigger twice to make it go in reverse...
Get the paperwork out for the radio n esc n give it a good perusal.. If not, search the web for instruction manuals for both items and go from there.. Or maybe as you guessed, the motor direction may show something different when you get it in the buggy...
I'm sure it will be something programming wise, whether it is the radio or the esc has yet to be discovered..!

I see you are not too far away from me so if you still get no joy, get back in touch... Sometimes two heads are better than one, I can call or you can bring it over, let's see what can be done...

Thanks for offer. I may try to pop to Spen tomorrow as there are a few people planning to go, but if I have no luck I will certainly take you up on that. Thanks again

Try setting throttle to reverse, but then re calibrate your neutral throttle and brake :) pretty sure I read it in a post on here somewhere a few weeks ago
Do you have a sensor wire connected from motor to esc ?
And are you using a futaba transmitter ?
If no sensor wire you can swap any 2 of the phase wires A B or C.
If you can fit a sensor wire definetly do so.
If Futaba radio i think its required to have throttle channel reversed.
**edit**
Sorry didnt noticed you stated the radio, but may be same solution

Thanks to everyone. Indeed it did need throttle reversing and ESC was set to drive and brake, but no reverse, hence why I couldn't make it work.
Thanks to all at Batley for help getting my buggy running earlier

Hey, cool.. Good news.. I've had issues like this with esc's before, well you know what us guys are like! Who needs instructions..!?!
It does go against the male genetic code, but, sadly the instruction manual is sometimes the only way to go! Glad you got sorted and your day at Batley wasn't a total bust...
