Hi, hoping some of you will be able to help me make a decision!!

I am slowly putting a buggy together having not raced buggies for at least 20 years, though I did a bit TC about 8 years ago....

I have short listed the following ESC/Motors It's an OCD thing

I was wondering if any of you could offer some advice on which ESC/Motor Combo to go for.....

I know it's personal thing, but just after some experience of the product/support etc.

Not to worried about the cost but "She who must be obeyed!!" says I can only make the choice once and then i have to live with it!!

Hence why i can't seem to make the choice, I need to get it right first time :)

Here's the list and like i said any advice/experiences would be much appreciated:

Tekin RSX / Redline Gen2
Orion R10 (R10.1) / vst2
LRP Flow / X20
Vampire SR1+ / Type AB+ V2

Thanks for taking the time to read this it is appreciated.....

I have also just got back into racing and use the vampire speed controllers in both cars super smooth and perfect with just a press of a button cos they re adjust the settings according to your driving at the time. Dms racing distribute then so if u have any problems their spares repairs and customer service is great if anything goes wrong

There is nothing wrong with any of those combo's.
Pick whichever color you like best.

Hi, Danthurstonrc and Col, thanks for the comments, I think I am leaning towards the Tekin and Orion set-ups, mainly because they both offer "Reverse" option on the ESC, which is useful when you are on your own or just out playing for fun :-) and out of those two I'm leaning towards the Tekin, i think the data logging feature could be useful, and the customer support for the product from what I have read is "Excellent"..... just need to hit the order button :-)

If money is no object then go for the Tekin. I run their motors and they are excellent. I've been running RS Pro for some time, but not upgraded to the RSX as yet. A friend has and its awesome. runs super cool, way more power than the RS Pro, smoother and not to mention the datalogging which is fantastic to look at the data afterwards to work out gearing and how the motor is running. more useful in higher turn/stock classes where gearing is crucial, but useful none the less in mod.

The Vampire is good, but I've known some have trouble with counting flashes to get it setup. Decent warranty/support on them.

LRP ESCs seem to break a lot. no end of trouble I've seen.

Orion is just another hobbywing made/clone. Good but plenty about same spec for less money. Known someone have some gip with their warranty. I'd get a cheaper version, hobbywing, skyrc, speed passion etc.

If I could refresh all my electrics i'd go with Either the Vampire Stuff
Or Orca
The orca is silky smooth running
Orion seems to be the choice of champions as many of the top international drivers seem to run Orion lectrics but it seems to be rather pricey to me

In my opinion the Orion combo wins all day long.

The 10.1 speedo is expensive but you can pick up the current versions for decent money.

VST2 motors are awesome.

You really should take a look at the dualsky stuff, superb quality and very well priced. I use it in all my cars as do a lot of my racing buddies. Never heard a bad word about them.

I used to work for SMD and for the 12 months I was there I think one speedo and one rotor came in for repair/warranty.
