Hi all!

Yesterday I got a Kyosho Ultima PRO from a nice deal. One of my jobs custumers gave me the car for free, I just gotta fix his son´s Gravel Hound with the front shock stay broken.
The car was pretty dirty, real ugly body paint job but nothing broken but one of the 3 outside gearbox pinions (the middle one).
I wonder if I could find spares, but guess is real difficult being a vintage car.
I want it to be my vintage runner, I already have a new built RC10 (never used) and my first buggy racer Losi XXcr in perfect condition (almost vintage indeed)
Now is time to clean and dissasembly...

Thanks guys, I´ve been cleaning it up and removing that weird blue duct tape across the chassis. I replaced the front a-arms for new ones (was in the package)The units it was carring are longer and forced the shocks backwards, so looks kinda bent.
I really love working on that stuff, is amazing how good it looks with a little of effort and there are still plenty of job.
Gotta find that spares and maybe I´m purchasing one of those brand new bodies similar to the oem ones.

Nice Pro II there, with plenty of options fitted, the top deck looks like the plastic Ultima II one.
The front arms, body, wing and wing mounts are all Kyosho Triumph parts, although it's good to see the owner left the Ultima wing mounts still on there. Spare Ultima gears are readily available, even Kyosho still list them, part number UM1.

And the repro Ultima Pro bodies do look good.

ProII then, ok. 5 days ago I did know nothing about Ultimas, and I´ve downloading every single Ultima model manual with no succes at all. This car doesn´t look to match any of them. Looks like an Ultima "mess" LOL. I removed the Triumph arms and with the new arms fitted now the front suspension works properly. While dissasembling I realised the front shock stay is a lil broken. Actually the top deck is the plastic one, I tried the small fiber pieces from the Pro, but the chasis flex a lot so I cleaned and assembled the large plastic piece. I have to fit a couple of alu post for stiffer finish.

Thanks for the part number, the gear boxes look pretty the same in the different Ultima models but the part number goes from "blister B" to that UM1. I´m going to order in my Kyosho dealer and cross the fingers.
This car is cery easy to work on, I put out the diff in order to make a rebuild, but was ok just a little overtight.
Thats the progress, hope you like it.

Well technically it's just called the Ultima Pro, Kyosho used the name for three versions of the Pro, yours is the Ultima Pro black version, manual for it here. (http://www.retromodelisme.com/manuels_pages/37/ultima-pro-kyosho.html) Rear shocks are Kyoshos Platinum shocks from the Turbo Ultima. (http://www.retromodelisme.com/manuels_pages/130/turbo-ultima-kyosho.html)
And yes, the black Pro chassis did flex, the first white Ultima Pro had a full length fibreglass top deck, but it had an aluminium chassis with the battery slots cut into it. I guess Kyosho thought the fibreglass chassis was tough enough to withstand damage, without giving too much thought to stiffness.
