As you know mate i got the N95 8gb and i think its spot on, the N96 as a 16gb internal memory and a 8gb mem card and it looks sweet

Regarding the N96 check out the review on gsmarena.com, it gets slammed as basically a backward step from the N95.

I guess it depends what you want from your phone. If you want to make phone calls and fire off a few texts, any phone will be good enough but then you already knew that didn't you ;). On the other hand, if you want HAL9000 or KITT in your hand, that is a different matter - at that end of the market whether it can make phone calls is almost irrelevant.

Hi, a bit of inside info, the N96 has problems with buttons sticking, the battery life is not as good as the N 95 - 8gb, and more importantly the tv is NOT supported here in the UK, its down to the BBC.

Sonny Ericsson is very problematic with software problems, they keep locking up.

Bottom line, wait till the Mk 2 version of the N 96 in January, by that time they should have sorted the TV as well.

Debatable if the TV will ever be "sorted" within the lifetime of the N96. It uses DVB-H technology which is smaller and more power efficient than the current UK standard of DVB-T. So to make it work, they'd either need to change the innards of the TV receiver to DVB-T or the UK transmitting standard would need to change to DVB-H which I'd think would be a more gradual thing. Just my 5 penneth worth but what about a Samsung Omnia or HTC Touch Diamond HD?

I looked at (and tried) several phones when i changed a few months ago, i settled on an N95, its a superb phone i reccommend it, if you want to do a lot of surfing though i'd get the iphone..

ive just been looking at the samsung Omnia seems pretty good and all the flaws with the Tocco appear to have been sorted. always give new phones a few weeks to see what errors pop up in reviews.

I hate my n95.. slow, rubbish sound quality. Want a Blackberry Storm next but will probably get an HTC cos it has a full qwerty keyboard and it runs windows mobile

easy one - Nokia E71 or E51. phones that aren't like kids toys or vain fashion statements and actually work as phones/email/internet devices. i've had HTC phones and sent them back - i'm not a big fan of windows mobile devices / touch screen phones as they are slow and eat batteries and every sony ericsson i've had has broken in a very short space of time.

i've still got my 1991 analogue motorola with the 6" antenna if you are interested !!:woot::woot:
