Looking good Adey, that looks like a nice replica of a Associated legends car.

Mr D. ? ;)

adey
27-05-2014, 09:44 PM
Yes indeed. Mr Drescher replica sort ov. I don't have his stickers but I am happy with it. He was the local hero racer at marston palmer track back in the day and I wanted a car just like his.

I think others have tried Ade, but to no avail, i may call them anyhow, would love one for the works and one for the '94, recall Chris Grainger running them back in the good old days before 190mm lol, sadly, can't find pics of his cars!

Tried the car on carpet last night and got it going really good. I ended up changing oils and pistons in the rear shocks and adding 40g up front. I am going to limit the droop on the front and see what it's like next week. I have installed a brushed system but I'll now get another brushless motor and esc to put in.

Hi Aire Valley Alan, isn't it time you dug out Steve's and your 'real' rc10's from your shed and posted some pics on here of how to cut a gold tub down to save weight.

Aire valley
28-08-2014, 09:00 PM
Hi Brett ... I think that the cut down and lightened gold tubs disappeared some years back... However, I do still have Steve's last RC10 gold tub car from late eighties and,of course, my '92 worlds car , in Masamis' colours (painted by Simon Major) and complete with Cliff Letts' transmitter that he gave to me after the '92 Reedy Race..!! Might try and post a picture of that.! ..Happy days
Incidentally, one of my old cars from back then, was for sale on here a couple of weeks back..it was the full Andy's carbon conversion with body shell painted by Jules from Modelsport...! I swapped it with Andy Smith over 20 years ago..didn't look like it had been run since...was very tempted but have too many old cars..!

This weekend was the Castle Hill Vintage Festival (Sydney, AUS). Ran my Worlds car for the first time and picked up a hard fought 2nd in 2wd Open.

The car is standard, except for green springs. Tires are JC Bar Codes Blue. I ran a Reedy 9.5T which was the perfect amount of power and driveability, through an LRP SXXv2 ESC, Sanwa Servo and M11X.

2nd time out at yorcc yesterday.few things changed since first run out 3 weeks ago.most noticeably new shell in brian kinwald replica.front rims trimmed down and standard kit shocks now running losi big bore springs.car seemed to sit a lot better through corners.massive improvement landing off jumps.hopefully a couple more tweaks before next outing should help me keep on the pace of top boys.

Some great cars being shown here. Retro stuff is like an RC drug. Keep the tuning tips coming. Its good inspiration for my own re-re project. Which has been delayed slightly by life, racing, and every single re-re kit defect known to man. Quality control was pretty pants on these worlds kits (shame really).
She'll be sorted soon though, Looking forward to posting pics when it starts coming together.
Keep'em coming. :)

I don't like the idea of running wider front axles to push the 2.2 wheels outwards. I know this is similar to running the original sized offset wheels with narrow axles but the older cars had a greater scrub radius than modern cars. I want to keep the more favorable scrub radius. My solution was to 3D model a stock arm and then widen it so that the front end width is where it should be with modern wheels and stock offset axles. The benefit is that the front arms are now close in length to the rear arms. I had them 3D printed. They work great. This is the first version. I'm still going to change them a little bit. I'm also making new rear arms that look stock. They too are slightly wider but when used with B4 cvd's and hubs will give proper width in back with modern offset wheels as well. At that point all 4 arms will be the same length.

Hi all,

Just thought I would post for those who are interested. I have been working on a RE-RE RC10 WORLDS.

I have worked on the chassis sides and nose. I have also fitted Jconcepts hop-ups. I am just finishing it off and will post pictures in next few days.

I have painted the RC10 WORLDS in the colours of Craig Dreschers 1993 WORLDS car. This is the same as I ran it in 1991/93 but mine was the RC10 TEAM car.:)

Here are the pictures of the RC10 WORLDS RE-RE. Painted in 1993 worlds Drescher colours. This is how I ran my Team version back in the day. Not 100% finished just need to take the nose down like Dreschers but will do this later on. Running it for the first time on grass at Telfords Western Park Show Saturday...:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Cant wait to go back nearly 25 yrs and run a RC10 again.

Loved the build went together perfect. A few Jconcepts hop ups along the way and white RPM Gear cover with White shock adjusters and cups. Decals are as close to Dreschers but also as I ran them back in the day.

Just wanted to say how good this car is and after almost 25 yrs of running one it put one big smile on face.......:D

Ran it on grass at Hinckley club yesterday for the first time as didn't make it to telford.

The Worlds wasn't 100% set up right but will be for next week. Even with the set up on it, it was on pace with the modern mids BMAXs, hybrids, YZ2s, B5Ms and Xray 4-2WD.

I made the A final and Q6 and beat the above buggies to make the A final also. Stunning really for a car of 1991 team to 1993 worlds.

I havent had a smile on my face like this for a while absolutely awesome. Well done for the release of this buggy and so glad I went for one.

Hi mate, I love your worlds, it looks amazing. How do you find the 7.5 motor in the car? I assume the gearbox can take it?

Cheers

xfactor
09-07-2015, 09:13 AM
Hi Hyper, Thank you.

The 7.5 is fine. I only run it in Blinky mode but the Worlds can more than handle it. Back in the day I ran 10 triple and 11 double with no problems. I run on a grass track too so I would of thought on Astro with less drag would be fine as well. I have fitted weight also to the front and under servo. There is no lift at all on the straight from mid to top speed and nice balance with corner speed. Just playing with set up at the min and changed the Worlds slightly. Once finished I will post pictures.

Got bored with the 20turn brushed motor and novac vintage speed controller. Pulled thwm out and transplanted my speed passion rev and 10.5 turn brushless. Racing Sunday at batley buggy club. Made mistake with ordering so wont be using the tires I wanted but my bog job seems to be working well. Servo still needs changing as this one seems a little weak at times will post pics after I am happy with electrics and maybe new shell havernt decided yet. Making this car my main because I love how it drives and looks. Im not competing to win A or even B final so id rather look cool and enjoy a good run with an awsome car. Plus I am starting to dislike how little room for electics there is in my b5m. Also yes my rug doesnt match the car if used as pitmat :) .

Are you racing against the modern 2WD buggies?havent ran it for a while, but yes it was against modern 2wds.i believe theres a video showing a final at yorcc mainly between ross[mb models] and john[elite r/c] using bmax2 rm and serpent srx2 mm.you can see the kinwald replica in a decent 3rd place.ryder too on here also ran rc10 worlds in sealed can 20turn club championship finishing 2nd by only 2 points.that was a rapid well handling car.worth buying one just for smile factor.never sellling mine.

Slinga weights can be purchased from slinga on here.

Anyone who wants the awesome BLING STING Front weight pm slinga on here he is ready for any pms.........

They weigh 50g and are a direct fit. Just remove your body post and washers, crack the crush tube side screw, remove the front screw, swivel the brace up and it drops straight in.Then just fit the post on top of weight as the weight is the exact thickness of the 3 washers under the post.........

Hope that helps everyone.......

Thanks Neil and Mark for your kind words.....

Mark,

Paint Jobs.

I do all my own paint jobs. I have been painting body shells since 1989 ;)

Chassis skins.

Chassis skins are from JPLmodels in Singapore. www.jplmodels.com You get 2 skins on 1 sheet. The one on the GOLD and the one on the BLACK are off the same sheet. If you look at the main Associated on both cars the Associateds are different colours.
