Does anyone know anything about this?
it is a TRX-1 chassis (and matching shck tower) that is narrower at the front, the inner hinge pin blocks nearly touch together when fitted it is that narrow!
Anyone know what it is? Why it exists? who made it? Why? etc

Wild guess: to allow the use of (truck?) front arms.
If I remember correct the TCP (TRX3) came with a set of both short and wide arms.
That's not a genuine Traxxas TRX1 or TRX3/TCP chassis Graham, nor the bottom deck of the double-deck Composite Craft chassis. Traxxas never, ever did a carbon weave chassis.
I believe that's an early Fibrelyte TRX1 custom chassis or a Blue Eagle truck chassis - there's no kick-up on the front of a TRX3/TCP, its built into the plastic bulkhead - so it has to be a TRX1/Blue Eagle type chassis ( Blue Eagle was the truck version of the TRX1, but had 2 versions ) as it has the kick up built in. But it looks slightly too short for a Blue Eagle to me... ?
Fibrelyte definitely did do the TRX1 and Blue Eagle chassis back in the day for a short while, with different wheelbases, shock towers etc etc.
I ran a TRX1 for a season before i 'retired' in the early ninieties, and i do remember some people using a modified TRX1 chassis with longer Losi XX arms on... outside possibility this could be one of those, but done nicely via Fibrelyte ?
Have a chat with Craig, he might know, as he was the other Factory Traxxas driver ( along with Woody ) when the TRX1 was out.

I got a reply from Craig:
That looks very much like a chassis that fibre Lyte made from 'CFC' for the trx1 to narrow the front end so you could run the 2.0 minisprikes on the front and still fit in the box. I was the first to do it by butchering a kit chassis to do it to mine but later I machined a set if wishbones (which later became the geometry for the trx3) which was a much better solution, short wishbones gave more steering, though a tad less stable.
It's very rare I only ever saw one on Tony Stephensons car.
I used to run 2" 4wd ministries on the front. Used that setup to TQ my first radio race car round.
So it's a piece of history it seems :woot:
Anyway, I don't need it, so it's for sale
