Our long time friends at Petit RC (http://www.petitrc.com) (the biggest RC news site linking to oOple for many years now) are proud to announce their new 'Petit European Tour 2009' race.
After the recent news that their previous venue again wasn't available and there would be no traditional Petit race this winter - the guys have changed tactic and secured an alternate venue of Maritime Raceway (http://www.maritimeracing.info/) in Gillingham, down in the South of England - just 34 miles from London.

The race will be over the 17th and 18th January 2009 and feature 2WD and 4WD 1/10th electric buggies.

Some infos:

- 150 drivers MAXIMUM by class
- webcam online on PETIT RC
- LIVE coverage
- Hitech TV on stands

I'm off to Gillingham in about 7 hours to go and watch Chester play, I may take a sneak peak while I'm there...!! (If it's open!)

Anyone have a postcode for the venue at all?
Edit: Found it.

"The Historic Dockyard Chatham (In the fitted rigging house) Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Kent ME4 4TZ"

The venue's location has lots to offer what with it being on the historic dockside, close to a large shopping centre with lots of restaurants, and there is easy access to the airports and ferry terminals.

If anyone hasnt visited the venue, it is of a very high standard with permanent tables and chairs, mains power, info screens, cafe, etc.

Ian and his team have done an excellent job and all the local 1:10 off-road boys have been waiting for this moment...

Excellent! :woot: wonder what the surface will be?? They have a permanent touring track so I wonder if they will use another one of the levels and have multi surface track.

I have heard that the track's permanent carpet track will be covered over so that the club's investment is protected against the cars landing from jumps, etc.

It is nice to see strong interest for this event seeing as Petit RC have given the Maritime and the UK the opportunity to host it.

Good to see more and more superb indoor events popping up 'dawn sarf' for those of us (like me) who are afraid of grass, mud and astro :D

yes that right! I will buy a new carpet for the event and protect the current carpet of Maritime Raceway.

I have noticed a REAL pleasure from you, UK drivers who were coming last year at Paris. This year, no opportunity to get the same venue and no opportunity somewhere else near Paris. And then I sent to 2007 edition drivers an email to explain that and some of you (Ben, James, Fabs) contacted me to bring me a precious help and I decided to organize this prestigious upcoming event in your country.
And you know that PETIT RC is 10 years in 2008! I hope to prepare something to celebrate with you PETIT RC's birthday :)

----------------------

I know you are no racer in Truck UK championship class but each year at the PETIT RC RACE, this class is there. I expect 10 drivers maximum ?!?!? - Last edition= 16 racers - But only 4 from out of France (Germany and Austria).

What do you think about that? Do we test this class? and I will attribute only 10 places for truck?

Thank you for your advises.

For entry form, in a short time! It's ready but waiting some advises about Truck class.

@Jimmy: thanks for this thread. I already created a thread about my PETIT RC RACE "Europe Tour" 2009 here: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15281
Could you please to merge them. Thank you

Well Lipos were passed at the AGM and it's very likely that they will be through at the EFRA AGM next week end so don't worry.
