Been rebuilding a TA03F over the weekend and for some reason it has a really noisy transmission
I have stripped the gearboxes and diffs, lubricated all bearings shaftes etc and still its noisy.
Were these noisy in their day or should I look for some other reason?
Pavement testing reveals its running fine and theres no binding just rather loud.

You got the right pinion on the motor? Some pinions look very alike, but have different teeth spacing.

Yes, white gears are for pro using 64P pinion gear and black gears using 0.5 tamiya stand pinion gear

Its the black gear so 0.5 pitch, pretty sure they are the right pinions as they came out of a tamiya packet yesterday lol :D
the noise seems to be coming from the belt pulley shaft, tho i might swap out the spur gear for a new one, just to be sure

one of your shaft bearings could be worn out and have too much play causing the gears to not mesh properly.

should run smooth, from what i can remember about my old ta03 and my old m01 it was the spurs that were bad for grinding noise from the tamiya pinions coroding. what id do is descrease all the gears and clean between the teeth to get all the crap out.

OK thanks for the replies :)
I think ill strip it down again, give the parts a wash in the old ultrasonic cleaner and check the bearings (Ballraces not bushes btw)
