Hi all

got my son a new vampire sr1+ the initial set up was easy and so was setting it,
when we got the track it seemed fairly quick infield but when my son hit the straight it seemed to go the same speed, no boost or anything,
after a couple of laps i upped the timing and acceleration and still nothing, then after about 5 laps whilst going down the straight with about 5 meters to go it took off like a rocket (which at telford is about 40m long)
then the next lap just as hes getting to the end of the straight the boost kicks in and he has to brake hard, which thank god are good!
after 3 sets of batteries its still the same.
hes on full throttle as he hits the straight
its in a b44.2 with a dx3s radio
are we doing anything wrong?
any help would be great
rob.

Did you set your end points to 100% before calibrating?

That *might* cause your problem.

Definitely sounds like throttle forward endpoint wasn't setup as part of the initial programming or on the transmitter.

Reset both handset and speedo to default, and recalibrate

Does sound more like a transmitter issue, the SR1+ doesn't really have "boost", certainly you'd never see or feel it kick in like your saying, it's way too smooth & controlled for that sort of thing.

Hi all,

sorted,
took all your advice and reset the speedo and handset, which was set correct
the problem was, after resetting the speedo i had it on pit stand and revved it only to find the front wheels turning at speed and the rears just about turning,
the durango diff conversion in our 44.2 had failed and the shaft was just spinning in the pinion gear, to be honest my 14 year old son kept saying theirs something wrong with car, and i kept saying keep going its the speedo
fixed the diff,
club night last night and wow, very impressed, it was so quick my son for the time asked me to turn it down it was too fast, and that was at default setting,
very smooth, and he put in some quick laps,
all the best rob.

The default setting when I was running the SR1's was the maximum (6) on the timing setting, so you have the potential to turn it down a bit :)
