I have 2 sets of Lipo's - have been stored for 1-2 years but I don't know the voltage during storage they were either full or part charged.

Both sets run the car fine but it is slow - like it only has 30% power - I'm not sure if it's the batteries, some setting in the ESC or controller or a motor problem I had before.

One set charges fine and takes 5600mah (batteries spec is 5700mah) the other set comes up with a voltage error after charging for a while.

Can the batteries store enough charge but not deliver enough power?

Are the batteries likely to be kaput after 1-2 yrs storage?

Assuming you have used a balance charger to try and get some life back into them, I doubt there is anything more you could do. My guess is that they are kaput, discharge them carefully and dispose of them at the council battery recycling facility.

Try cycling the batteries.....it seems odd that both run slow....the one that charged ok sounds fine........ Try another battery in the car to check that it is not something else.....esc or motor...

You could try cycling them but I think they're kaput.

I had this problem a while ago, and learnt the hard/expensive way. I left two lipos laying around for about a year but didn't do a storage charge. I tried cycling them and got them back to full capacity but they had very little power.

I ended up replacing them and making sure I do a storage charge on them:cry:

The batteries are fine - so that's good news. I ordered a new set of batteries and the car was still running slow.

I traced the fault to the motor connections - so soldered the ESC wired straight to the motor and it's running great.
