I currently brings 2 shorty batteries to race meet... one can be run, while other one is being charged. then when my heat is finished, i swap the batteries over.

What about you? Do you run 1 or 2 batteries during the meets?

Two; same routine as yours. Use one, charge one. Works on club nights with little time between heats as well as Nationals. HTH :)

I travel to meets by motorcycle so rely on 3 batteries. First battery does 5mins or so of practice then the first heat, then the other 2 batteries last for heat 2,3,4 & the final so basically two heats per battery. Just so happens that they're usually down to the 'perfect' storage charge of 3.8v per cell after two runs too

Everybody is different..! .but I prefer three.....one in the car, one resting/cooling and one on charge....

At least 5
Practice + Q1
Q2 + Q3
Final 1
Final 2
1 spare

Saves the hassles of charging

Two per class.
And if charging is a hassle, should you really be trusted around electrics ;)

Always one battery, but charging can be tight sometimes so two would be my "luxury" setup.

Can't see the point in owning more than two.

Just 1 in each car, and I often run 2 classes at a racing meeting.

1 charger too, just got to be quick at putting them on charge :) Doesn't need to fully charge, lipos get topped up quite quickly!

LOL!
I mean that we race outside with no access to power, multiple packs is easier

Time for a whip round.
Can get a small generator sorted for not a huge amount

And despite only having two per class, I've still got to drag 8 batteries around.
2 saddles, 2 shorties, 4 sticks (either for the TC, or doubled up in the 8th)
So keeping track of which ones I charged last night, which ones I've used, which ones are ready to go and so on is bound to lead to issues.
Like putting the saddle that I'd used for one practice and one qualifier in the car, instead of the fully charged one. Oops.
