Hi Durango heads, has anyone tried and tested the Avid slipper clutch for the 210..
If so,what's the verdict.
Thanks.T.

I've got one on my 210.
It didn't work well with the stock white pads on super grippy astro with a 6.5t. No matter how much I tightened it there was still too much slip. They are really meant for US dirt tracks and 'stock' motors.
But switching to a mix of 2 red (high friction) and 1 white seems perfect. With that combination there is a good range of adjustment and the slipper is smooth and progressive.
However the gear cover on mine doesn't fit. It rubs the end of the slipper. I've spaced it out with a couple of 2mm washers so that doesn't happen, but of course that leaves a small gap for sand to get in and mash the spur gear. You get 2 spurs in the kit, and you'll need that spare because of course its totally unlike anyone elses gears and few places stock them.
Its certainly an improvement, though whether it was worth losing spur gear compatibility with my 410 and Cobra 4210 is debatable.

I've used the associated version of the same system. No problems there.
Needs a bit of dremel work to get it to fit, and the spur cover doesn't fit (indoor use only!)
If I could find a spur cover to fit if probably leave it fitted permanently.
As it is, I just have two gearboxes, indoor and outdoor.

Thanks for your reply guys, I am using it in mid motor on high grip astro, any suggestions as to why I am getting too much slip,no matter how much I adjust the slipper..?

You might be bottoming something out before you get to the right end load.
There was a batch of soft spacers on early 210s, that's where it'd start off. Then check the slipper parts.
With the associated slipper you needed to take a good bit off the slipper plate to get it to bite.

White or red pads? Really need some reds as white is too slippy.
