totally understand that
a 420 mile round trip would be £112 in fuel in my car

Adam,

You need to buy a car with a smaller tank, that way it feels like your getting a better deal when you fill it up, even if it does only do 14mpg

my mate Squeaker had a tiny tank in his evo6!

he said anything he made up in speed on a journey was wasted by stopping for fuel 3 or 4 times

at least i know my 90 litre tank will get me 300 miles or so

Adam - do you want to buy a Ford Escort?

After you have driven it 2000 miles you will have saved enough on fuel to throw it in the bin.

Tempting huh?
