Battery connect spark ?

Why, when I connect the battery in the car, a small spark & crack is made, this is with a novak gtb but have noticed it with other speed controls.

Its just when connection is made it arcs across before the metal touches, mine does it worse because my fan is hard wired across the battery terminals.

the reason that it sparks is because its charging the capacitor that is connected to your esc:thumbsup:

The spark is the power capacitor charging up, the crack is the noise of the spark because it draws a lot of current for a split second,a bit like if you put a brushed motor across a pack of batterys quickly, hope this helps.
