Welcome to you and your son to the hobby!

Brushed motor - 19 turn brushed should be more than enough for a beginner to control around a race track, still a good turn of speed for bashing.

Pre-made saddles - difficult one, most people I know build there own or get a shop/friend to build them for them. You might find a shop with a building service.

Acoms radio should be just fine.

You could try neil at stormforce racing as he builds packs or try www.m-k-racing.com (http://www.m-k-racing.com)
Have fun guys and welcome:thumbsup:

Thank you for your advice, will go for a 19 turn as advised.
Back in the early eighties used to have a Tamiya Thundershot had great fun with it, thought it would be great for my son to get into and get him off the playsation, but knowing me will probably get hooked and end up getting one for myself as well.

I did consider Kyosho lazer zx5 rtr but was told it would cost too much to get it to a competitive level, the bmax seems good straight out of the box and a sensible price, didint want to spend silly money but wanted something that could be upgraded if me and my son got hooked.
