Hi, this looks great. Suggest you post something in the mid-west section of oople too? More chance of local racers seeing it. I barely look at this part of the forum. Hope to come along at some point.

Midlands Raceway

Any tyre, usually minipits but anything is allowed, and you can use additive if you wish

Went down to Midlands Raceway last night.

By far the best indoor off road circuit I've ever been to.

Something the Midlands has definitely been needing for quite some time!.

Are foams being used? (hopefully not....)

RogerM
21-02-2015, 03:39 PM
I hope not too. I'd always advise a new club to be as accommodating as possible to all potential racers but I think, personally speaking, that foams and slicks are to be discouraged.

id say keep it to minipins on the drive wheels and if 2wd anything that willwork on front
4wd minipins front rear

Hi

All
I'm pretty new to u.k racing , at this track , is it best to run a full 4wd front tire or a cut down 4wd front tire , or is it personal preferred choice ,

Or a cut down 4wd. Front wheel and tire ,

Mike

1066 Racing

On what car Mike? I take it you mean on the front?

Indoor carpet 2WD a lot of people run Schumacher cut stagger low profile. It's narrower than a 'normal' front wheel, so most cut a section of the rim off, (or buy Schumacher narrow rims) sounds daft and hard to explain, head to the club with some wheels/tyres and I'm sure someone will help you out. Foam insert in rear only 2WD, low profile cut staggers don't need them.

If 4WD then standard 4WD front rim and mini pins normally works, but you'll likely need to snip a few spikes off, either inside and outside row, or 2 inside and outside rows to limit the grip roll. (traction roll) Foam inserts front and rear for 4WD.

There is another option for front of 4WD; Schumacher have just started making a full width Cut Stagger for 4WD front on carpet/astro, but don't know anyone who's tried them yet.

On the rear of either, mini pins or mini pins 2 with inserts. All in Yellow compound.

Hope this helps!

4wd fronts with inner and outer rows removed from the front will work perfectly well, no need for cut staggers at this track!

I'd also go for Ballistic Buggy whites over schumacher yellows, back-back tested both at the club and the whites are easier and faster, win-win.

Hi Roger, ..BB minipins I assume? Both front and rear for 2wd? Don't think I've ever seen a set of BB minipins in my life.

RogerM

BB mini pins yes.

I'd stick with staggers in yellow for the front of a 2wd around there.

Shame I can't make this event, would love to be there, have a blast guys.
