LIFT OFF OVERSTEER

Looking for some advice on curing lift off oversteer - Schu MiV2 i know its not the most glamorous of cars or expensive - my daughter and i race these each week as budget racers as most of the race budget has gone into buggies.

However, we race on carpet on a tight indoor track, we have plenty of speed no issues with cornering under power but at the end of the main straight into turn 1 the lift off oversteer causes the car to spin, theres also a bit of understeer at high speed cornering.

So any basic setup advice would be helpful, we've to setup gauges etc, and happy to tinker, both cars running stock kit setups with no hop ups.

Try a different driving technique.

If you're lifting off then turning you'll have a strong front weight on initial turn in. Even a small steering input will give a lot of turn and the back doesn't have the weight to hold on.

If your car has a gentle understeer everywhere else then it sounds like you're setup is ok.

Try starting the turn (gently) still with the power on, this way the rear is weighted up. Then ease off the gas and increase the steering as the car slows.

Turn then lift gives a much more stable car than lift then turn. This applies to big cars and little ones :-)

Reducing rear droop should help with the lift-off oversteer. If it's only high-speed then standing the shocks up (on the shock towers) should help the high-speed stability.

If you have any drag-brake set on the ESC then turn it off.

Take away rear droop would be my suggestion also, less weight transfer to the front.
