A lot has been said about the inclusion of lipos for this coming season, but just how much better are they?
Has anyone compared their lap times, LIPO vs HIMH?

with lipo the power delivery is the same right through the run 20c lipo about the same as nimh but 30c and above are just awsome i mainly race on road and there is no comparision if you can get a 30c lipo then buy it
nimh are better or easier when it comes to weight at least you dont have weight the car down with 2 house bricks to get it through scrutineering
but at the end of the day a lipo is faster if you can keep it on the island for 5mins
hope that helps Andy

Just to add the counter argument I have and am definately better suited to running with NiMh cells, well according to the stop watch anyway.
That said I have spent the last year making the power delivery of my cars softer and softer. For me a 30C LiPo would be a terrible thing!
I think it is going to be like everything else in this sport, you have to work out what is best for YOU by trying everything yourself!

hi roger
to be honest mate when i first tried my 30c it like ow my god who boosted the turbo early but now im used to it and ive geared my car to use the grunt.
well all i can say its a huge advantage in 4wd you with kick butt with lipo i think 2wd too much power can be a disadvantge at the mk gp i ran a 19turn all day and managed the b final so power doesnt aways win
but keep it on the island a lipos constant punch will help
i promise Andy
p.s i will add that i thought lipo was going to be a bad transition but in onroad it has proved to be a great move i hope the same is the case for off road

i found them more consistent than nimh, no performance drop off.
definatly of the track i have more time as just re peak them as worksop i run 2 classes and use one charger!,
you have 2 options in the car, add weight where as you will handle as you are, or re set the car to suit the lighter weight.
I've just bought lipo....
(not run it yet though but it is the future)

Does anybody know the life cycle of Lipo's...??? will they last more than 2 years and if you only have 2 sets of lipos instead of 4 sets of Nimhs will they last half as long....????
